I’m guessing tomorrows post is episode 7 :D
So far I’ve got 9 days of youtube and two chima episodes to catch up on. Do you know wether LEGO will release a DVD with the episodes on like ninjago or the first 2 chima episodes?oh and I bought eglors twin bike yesterday- another great set! I know wolf is doing a chima review(the pack tracker I think- again awesome set! :D) but do you mind if I do a different set review? Maybe gorzans gorilla striker or Jek-14s starfighter.

I have something else scheduled for tomorrow. I don’t like to have the same topics/themes day after day. This was an exception as I was already behind posting them. I will probably post Episode 7 early next week. As far as DVDs, yeah you can be sure that LEGO will release them.

You can do whatever reviews you like. Both the Gorilla Striker and the SW Starfighter would be excellent. There is a lot of interest in both. So just whaveter you feel inspired to do. :D

Good good good as my family say :D
The review might come before my robot thing as I have the gorrila striker and the twin bike with me now- it’s just a matter of write it on my ipad-transfer it to my dads laptop- attach the pictures to an email and finally send. I will do the starfighter when I get back. Would it be okay if I record me activating the play features and have them where the pics would be without uploading to youtube or is that too complicated?

admin August 9, 2013 at 12:45 PM

I’m not sure what you mean there at the end. Are you saying that you want to record the video, but not upload it to YouTube? I could upload it to TBB’s channel, or also just upload it here, althought I haven’t done that for a long time and would have to refresh my memory how to do it. :?

Also, I won’t be home for the rest of the day, so just clarify what you meant and I will read it this evening. On Fridays I do volunteer work at a free vegetarian lunch program, and then I hit the dojo until 8 PM. It’s always a busy day…

Reply

Acka bacca August 9, 2013 at 5:33 PM

Ok then- If I record a video of me using the play features can I add it to the post without uploading it to youtube or do I need to? It can easily be done if necessary.
enjoy your busy day :D mine was spent changing rooms (the slidy door with no handle mysteriously opened again after it had been bolted into place 8O pretty creepy but there was a benefit- the connections quicker but I still can’t play the videos!) relaxing by the pool, wolfing down a massive burger whilst my parents watched ,(they weren’t hungry) going on my Ipad, buying sweets for my friends to take back, having a frappelatte mocalatte (they are AMAZING) and talking about stuff whilst I was feeling nervous as I had just read necropolis by Anthony Horowitz which involved half dead humans climbing up buildings (perfect considering the door had magically opened earlier and my mum said she saw a shadow on the curtain from outside a couple of nights ago) and people standing there staring at something and music cutting out mid song and dark clouds and other eerie stuff!
I may not sleep tonight….

Creepy! Maybe get some garlic? It supposed to keep away ghosts! I don’t know about half-dead humans though.

Reply

Acka bacca August 10, 2013 at 12:16 PM

I don’t wanna be the one who finds out :D Garlic is supposed to repel vampires but I don’t believe it keeps away anything else
So is it okay if I attach the videos to an email or do I have to upload them to youtube? If its too confusing I’ll stick with pictures :)

Reply

admin August 10, 2013 at 12:22 PM

If you can upload them on YouTube that would be great, if not, we will just work with the pictures. Is that good?

Beano……. It’s been a long time since I read them. I didn’t realise it came with a beano max I got mine via The LEGO club. Is that unusual or did anyone else get one?

it won’t let me watch it it pops up saying “sorry this video could not be played”

Reply

admin August 9, 2013 at 8:31 PM

Yeah, sometimes that happens when a lot of people are trying to watch at the same time. Unfortunately this is the downside of non-YouTube videos. Just try again later. I will also replace them when the episodes ar available on YouTube. ;)

Wow! I just found something out! I thought Admin was the name of the person who created this site but it turns out Admin means that a person monitors what you are doing and where and when. LOL! I didn’t know that!

Reply

admin August 10, 2013 at 11:28 AM

He-he. Yeah admin is short for administrator. Decided to keep using that as we have some little kids here who sometimes have to be reminded who is the boss. ;)

But you can read about me under the contributor’s section. I’m actually a real person, although some of the little kids seriously believe that I’m really the yellow crash-test dummy! Maybe I am…

Reply

Acka bacca August 10, 2013 at 11:45 AM

Lol
If you are a yellow crash test dummy then a lot of people have miniature versions of you :D why exactly did you choose the crash test dummy over the other minifigs?

Reply

admin August 10, 2013 at 12:16 PM

Naw, I’m a special, talking crash-test dummy! :P

I choose the crash-test dummy because originally TBB was going to be only tutorials; LEGO building, minifig customizing, and other helpful stuff for LEGO fans. I have several crash-test dummies to try out the things I work on. Thus he became the mascot of TBB.

With the expansion of the site now we cover a lot more, but MOCing and minifig customization is still my favorite part of the hobby. Yeah, I’m one of those evil people on the dark side who cuts, glues, paints and drills LEGO.

 maybe I’m magic
There has been a few signs like last year on holiday (same place) a fancy glass got put down on our table and after a minute or so it shot off the table-nobody had touched it (wind maybe???)
A street light cut out when I passed it (coincidence???)
And those ride things that little kids go on would flash and make noises as I pass
(Again coincidence???)
I’m not superstitious but this stuff is kinda freaky

Hey Admin, I was wondering how to make a review on the Croc Swamp Hideout since I am getting the set in 2 weeks. I was wondering how to make the review if I can make it. Thanks!

Reply

admin August 10, 2013 at 11:32 AM

Cragger, you are welcome to write a review; just send it as a text document to my email address (under the Contributors tab or the How to Contact Us tab), also include the pictures you want to use. Articles should be 500-1000 words long and written as professionally as possible for your age. No “This set is so cool, it has cool details and minifigs!” If you have any further questions just email me. ;)

Reply

Acka bacca August 10, 2013 at 11:50 AM

Don’t you mean this set is so rad and in with the times yah the minifigs are epic with the groovy eye things :D
Is it me or is everyone wanting to do reviews at the moment? (I’m gonna review gorzans gorilla striker, Jek-14s starfighter and eglors twin bike so no pinching :D )

Reply

admin August 10, 2013 at 12:19 PM

A lot of people say they would like to write reviews, but few actually come thru. This is not a criticism in any way; I know people are busy, it is just the fact. Once someone start writing they realize how much time it actually takes to write a good article. Personally I spend 1-4 hours a day writing. ;)

Hey admin, remember my 2nd comic article? Interesting fact, I actually wrote that one within 3 hours secretly during an especially boring bit in a filmmaking workshop. However, that article was rather short and repetitive, with lots of “this comic was originally published in the LEGO Club magazine” and “This feels like an advertisement”, so I suppose it’s an isolated case…

Reply

admin August 11, 2013 at 9:51 AM

LOL! How could they make a filmaking workshop boring? That must require some talent! :P

Reply

Fikko3107 August 11, 2013 at 11:08 AM

I didn’t say it was completely boring…just a bit that’s boring. They asked us to brainstorm in respective teams and my team was rather uncooperative.

Ok…but I am getting it in less than two weeks so I will try to get it to you by the end of the month. Wait….so I can’t use the word cool in my review? Also, the e-mail I use now is one that I don’t use anymore. I will have to use my current one to e-mail you. Don’t be surprised that it is a different e-mail.

Reply

admin August 11, 2013 at 9:42 AM

Yeah, of course you can use the word cool! I was just referring to the tendency of inexperienced reviewers to wirte shallow reviews. ;)

As far as your email address, no problem, just write a note in the email to remind me who you are: Cragger The Prince of Chima! :P

CraggerThePrinceOfChima August 11, 2013 at 10:57 AM

Oh No..Don’t worry. I’m an experienced reviewer because I do reviews on the latest lego sets on my YouTube channel in front of the camera, so I think a written review will be easy. And of course I’ll say I’m Cragger…..or am I….INCEPTION

Hey Admin, I might not be getting the croc swamp hideout. At my local Walmart store, there is a sale for almost all the Lord Of The Rings of the Rings sets and some The Hobbit sets! I know the Goblin King Battle is now $70 at my walmart, $54 for the mines of moria, $40 for Weathertop, and $13 for Shelob Attacks! If I do get any of the sets from Walmart, I can still do a review for them.

They are not on YouTube and these alternate uploads can easily get overwhelmed by traffic. They don’t have the kind of servers YouTube does. So just try it a bit later. ;)

I’m not online all the time, but amongst all of us, if we all do a little bit, we can cover 24/7. And if you ever decide to become an official Contributor you also get more authority.

One of the best ways to keep tab of comments and questions is to subscribe to comments on the posts you are interested to follow up on. If by subscribing you are talking about youtube then there should be a subscribe button next to the name of the uploader/creator on a mobile device and on a PC/laptop/mac there is one above the video you are watching.when you subscribe you do so to the whole channel so you won’t be able to do this on every video as it gets switched to an un-subscribe button. Random fact- smosh has the most subscribers on youtube at the time of writing but pewdiepie is only 100,000 behind and his “bro army” is ever increasing in size so will likely snatch the top spot very VERY soon.

Thanks, Fikko! Your help is always appreciated. Oh, and have a fun time in England! Yeah, it is an expensive country! One of my brothers lives in London.

As far as subscribing to comments, the comments used to be sent as emails to subscribers, but we had so many subscribers and people comment so frequently on all of the articles, that we had to shut it down. The amount of emails going out was crashing the server. So my developer set it up that now the comments go to your feedreader.

So you subscribe to the comment feed for a particular post, and you can just have it update in your browser under your subscribed feeds section, or if you use Windows Live Mail you can check it there as well as it has a feeds section. You can set it up how often you want to update your feeds… I have it set for 15 minutes when I’m at home, and every hour when I travel.

Personally I subscribe to everything through feeds; all LEGO and non-LEGO blogs and websites, world news, etc. It is a lot easier to read and a lot faster, as you don’t have to go to each website separately to read the latest posts, (unless you want to comment and participate in a discussion). This is especially useful when I travel and I’m on a slow connection. But even at home I use it daily as I can check all LEGO news and world news from 60 different websites in about 5 minutes. ;)
