The LEGO Movie books & guides

With The LEGO Movie coming out in just a few days (February 7th), there is a lot of excitement building up. The trailers, teasers, and LEGO sets related to the movie, all seem to indicate that this is going to be a great film. Also, according to media reports by people who have seen the pre-screening of the movie, it is going to be an exciting adventure that will appeal to both children and adults, as well as those who are not so familiar with the LEGO hobby and die-hard LEGO fans alike (quite a feat, if you think about it). 🙂

The LEGO Movie Coming Soon

We have discussed The LEGO Movie trailers and The LEGO Movie sets here extensively (and will continue to do so with more reviews), there is one area we haven’t touched on as of yet; books and guides related to The LEGO Movie. And there is quite a few of them! Here I will show you some of the best ones that will give you a better understanding of the characters, the story, and the background of The LEGO Movie.

THE LEGO MOVIE: THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE – If you can only get one LEGO Movie book, get this one. It is full of interesting information about both the movie and the characters. And you also get a sneak-peek of the very exciting summer LEGO Movie sets as we discussed in earlier (see: The LEGO Movie Summer Sets?). Below is the description of the book and a video-review to give you a better idea of the book.

I saw all these very neatly spread out on a table with the sets and CMFs yesterday at B&Ns while hunting for Marsha. I had intended to flip through them after i was done with my hunt, but when I found her I was so happy I forgot and left LOL.

so wait, you forgot to buy her when you found it? that’s funny! (and that sort of stinks too. you know the feeling when you finally find something and you forgot it. that sucks.)

Oh nonono!!! I made sure I took Marsha with me… I forgot to go back and flip through the books LOL

Mermaids have a tendency to make you forget everything else. 🙄

        • Micho January 28, 2014, 4:29 PM

Yup, and it all started with Ariel, then Syrena from POTC LOL… I was really afraid I wouldn’t get Syrena either and finally I found 3 Whitecap Bays on sale, I was like “whew”. I have all the LEGO Mermaids, then some I mixed and matched, I only need the Friends Ariel which I plan on getting later this year.

The POTC mermaids are still my favorites. The printing on the torsos and tails are just beautiful! Although I have to say that Marsha’s face is the cutest and I love her hair! 😀

I agree with you 100%, Marsha is the cutest and Syrena is the one that shows more emotion

Thanks for doing this post! I looked through the essential guide once, and that is where you can find most info on the characters and sets (including summer ones 😉 ).

Yes, that’s the best book in my opinion. But I thought to add the other ones as well for the sake of completeness. 🙂
