LEGO The Hobbit video-game updates!

You might remember that back in December it was announced that a new LEGO The Hobbit video-game was in the making (see press-release and details here: LEGO The Hobbit Video-Game Coming!). Recently Warner Brothers sent out an update, as well as the key art for the game, which is particularly interesting because this is the first time we have a chance to see a LEGO version of Smaug. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO The Hobbit Video-Game

Here is the official press-release update about the game: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released the key art for LEGO The Hobbit, available this Spring for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation4, PlayStation3, PlayStationVita, the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, as well as Windows PC. Join Gandalf, Bilbo, Thorin Oakenshield and Company, as they set out on an unforgettable journey filled with both splendor and peril, on their quest to take back the Lonely Mountain from Smaug The Magnificent.

In LEGO The Hobbit, kids and families will take on the form of their favorite Hobbit characters and follow the storyline of Peter Jacksonโ€™s first two films. Players will embark on quests throughout Middle-earth, joining Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, and Thorin Oakenshield and Company in their exciting adventures toward the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor. Along the way, players will solve countless puzzles, partake in Treasure Quests and battle with Orcs, Trolls, Goblins and fouler things.

Interesting, isn’t it? Looks like Smaug is going to be quite similar to the standard LEGO dragons, but with more menacing claws and a special head-piece. There is also a new trailer for the LEGO The Hobbit game, so I will share that here as well. Enjoy!

Funny and entertaining as all LEGO games, LEGO The Hobbit should not disappoint. The game will be released in April, but you can already pre-order it on Amazon with a pre-order price garantee. Here is the link: PRE-ORDER LEGO THE HOBBIT VIDEO-GAME

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to the LEGO The Hobbit video-game? And what do you think of Smaug? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

First comment! this post seemed a little (after 10:20) I might try the demo on the 3DS (which they usually have for LEGO video games). However, I probably won’t get it ๐Ÿ™

It was posted at 10 AM EST as all other articles. Probably your cookies needed to get refreshed. Your computer autmatically does that periodically. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Lloydguy March 1, 2014, 12:10 PM

that might be it. Wait, I have no idea what that means (I am not trying to be rude

As you browse the Internet your computer saves the last version of the website you visited. This is to save loading time. The next time you visit that website you will see the same page that you have seen last time… unless you refresh the page. Your computer periodically clears the cache/cookies and refreshes the page for you to make sure that you see the latest version. And of course you can also do this yourself by just hitting CTRL+F5. ๐Ÿ˜‰

            thanks

Looks like a great game! I just started the LotR game, so this is pretty similar. I wish I could get it, but these newer LEGO video games are just so expensive! The TLM game is $50 for the PS3, which is what I can get it for.
Maybe this game will show a preview of what the December Hobbit sets will be! ๐Ÿ™‚
It still follows the movie storyline, though, and I personally dislike how it goes against the book. Elves aren’t major characters and neither is Azog.

Also, MetalBeard’s ship is Available on Lego Shop now, and the Mixels are back, and the SW is again available! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • admin March 1, 2014, 11:55 AM

Yep, all 2014 LEGO sets are now back in stock! Finally! This includes (just follow the links) LEGO Mixels, the 2014 LEGO Legends of Chima sets, LEGO Disney Princess sets, the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO DC Super Heroes sets, and even the highly sought-after and long sold-out #21050 LEGO Architecture Studio set is now back in stock! ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, this month you will receive a free exclusive LEGO Super Heroes Martian Manhunter minifigure with orders of $75 or more, and of course free shipping for orders of $75 or more. The Martian Manhunter is also available for our friends over in Canada and the UK. So there are some great things to be had this month! ๐Ÿ˜›

      • BLProductions March 1, 2014, 2:49 PM

I didn’t know the Disney Princess sets were having trouble… And it’s great the Architecture studio is back, though I’m not particularly interested in it…the Eiffel Tower, I want….
As far as the Manhunter, I’m not gonna try to get it, unless I get the MechDragon or the Republic Gunship at Lego during this month (unlikely-though not for the Flying Flusher ๐Ÿ™‚ ).
And today is March 1st! (you probably knew that) So if i can get all my brothers together and my dad gives in we can build the Sea Cow! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

        • admin March 1, 2014, 4:48 PM

I hope you can build the Sea Cow, we will talk about that set some more tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

          • BLProductions March 1, 2014, 5:05 PM

Yes my mom let us open it and we built bag 1!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s so cool, MetalBeard is basically the whole bag and the pieces are so awesome!!! I won’t spoil the rest, …until tomorrow!

    • Lloydguy March 1, 2014, 12:12 PM

The 3DS version is 29.99 in the US. Is it the PS3 or your country that makes it more expensive?

      • BLProductions March 1, 2014, 2:41 PM

I assume it’s the PS3, but I can’t be sure. It is cheaper than the PS4 or the WiiU though.

        • Lloydguy March 1, 2014, 3:18 PM

          huh.

  • Lloydguy March 1, 2014, 12:40 PM

    My 2 comments disappeared!

  • Lloydguy March 1, 2014, 12:41 PM

    oh wait there back!

    • admin March 1, 2014, 12:59 PM

Comments never disappear. They may be just delayed on your screen – it also has to do with catching as we talked about; both on your computer and at the server. If you refresh the page they will be right there. Commenting puts a lot of stress on the server, so please do not keep refreshing the page – just be patient, and be assured that they are there and others can see them as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Beardless Dwarf March 1, 2014, 12:41 PM

It’s gonna be awesome! I pre-ordered on Tuesday so I’ll get the exclusive Bilbo minifig with it.

    • admin March 1, 2014, 12:59 PM

Nice! That Bilbo minifig is really sweet. I like his shirt. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • legozebra March 1, 2014, 4:56 PM

I too am soooo excited for the game (and Smaug as a set). I hope I can get the pre-order minifig this time, as for the LEGO movie game I pre ordered the PC version to get the minifig from Gamestop and apparently the PC version was cancelled so no minifig for me ๐Ÿ™ But when I looked online I couldn’t find anything that said they were canceled… I dunno

This is off topic, but did anyone see the new Sandcrawler yet?? It’s awesome!

    • BLProductions March 1, 2014, 5:23 PM

I heard about there being a possible Sandcrawler a while ago.
Never saw a picture, but i just looked it up and yes, there’s one picture of it. ๐Ÿ˜• If it retails for more than $130, I will be upset. Unless its worth it. I used to want the first one, though. ๐Ÿ˜

      • admin March 1, 2014, 6:03 PM

Yes, the Sandcrawler is coming indeed. I will write about it next week so we can discuss. The price is not known yet, but it is a very large set, so my guess is that it will be more in the $150-$200 range.

      • legozebra March 1, 2014, 6:13 PM

The only reason I knew was because I (somewhat obsessively) check about 17-18 different new blogs every few hours ๐Ÿ™‚

I learned my lesson as once, a confidential image showed up that I missed as it had to be removed ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • BLProductions March 1, 2014, 9:21 PM

Are you on Brickset.com? Because I was just reading about the Sandcrawler article and one of the comments was by a “legozebra.”
Anyways, it looks better than the old Sandcrawler, but I wish it came with the same minifigs, just updated.

        • admin March 1, 2014, 10:36 PM

I know the feeling. Most blogs though no longer post confidential images as they want to remain in the good graces of the LEGO company. It is not worth having your blog shut down over a leaked image. There are still a couple that post them occasionally – if you are into that sort of stuff. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • ninja of stealth March 3, 2014, 12:22 PM

yay! but I rather get the LEGO movie video game with the green ninja! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Rattle Shake March 3, 2014, 11:15 PM

It sucks that they didn’t make it for the WII. And they made LEGO Marvel Superheroes for the DS but not the WII. THE DS IS OLDER THEN THE WII FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
