We have talked about The LEGO Movie summer sets before, along with full reviews of each of the sets (see links at the end of this post), however I just found these cute animations for The LEGO Movie summer sets I just had to share with you. They originally appeared on LEGO’s own YouTube channel, and give you a great view of the functions and playability of the sets, plus a little fun story too. Enjoy! 🙂

LEGO Movie Summer Sets

#70814 THE LEGO MOVIE EMMET’S CONSTRUC-O-MECH: I think this is the largest mech made of standard LEGO elements that LEGO ever released, and it is really fun. I like the fact that it looks like a construction vehicle, giving it a large and heavy look – the Robo Police Force is really no match to this mech! Unikitty is funny in this video; sounding like a real cat. Here is the official description for your convenience: Get ready and prepare for the ultimate battle with evil Lord Business. Join creative forces with Master Builder Emmet to make this massive Mech. Open up the cockpit and place Emmet in the driver’s seat. Knock over anything that gets in your way with the swinging wrecking balls. Grab a Skeletron in the Mech’s excavator bucket or rotate the roller to iron out the opposition. But hurry before Lord Business glues the whole world together. Includes 3 minifigures with accessories: Emmet and 2 Skeletrons, plus an Angry Kitty figure. 708 pieces. Price: $59.99 – Available now at the Online LEGO Shop

#70815 LEGO MOVIE SUPER SECRET POLICE DROPSHIP: A perfect vehicle for carrying a large army that is not Star Wars related (finally!). This is the largest vehicle for Lord Business’ Super Secret Police Force. Batman and the Green Ninja are awesome in this video! Here is the official description for your convenience: Oh No! Lord Business’ Robo Police have invaded Cloud Cuckoo Land in their high-tech Dropship and are in hot pursuit of Emmet, Batman, Green Ninja and Johnny Thunder! With a pair of Robo SWATs at the controls in the dual cockpit, fire up the rocket boosters for lift-off. Once airborne, turn the rear control to rotate the boosters and surge forward in fly mode. Fire the stud blasters and target the heroes with the rotating front cannons and rooftop rifle. Open the sliding side panels to access the weapon rack and extend the zip line to lower the Robo SWATs to the ground. Make a smooth landing and then try to capture Emmet and co in the Dropship’s removable prison. Includes 8 minifigures with weapons and accessories: Emmet, Batman, Green Ninja, Johnny Thunder and 4 Robo SWATs. 853 pieces. Price: $79.99 – Available now at the Online LEGO Shop

#70816 BENNY’S SPACESHIP, SPACESHIP, SPACESHIP!: I like this set so much I take every excuse to talk about it. (In fact I’m working on another article showing you my modifications of Benny’s spaceship.) In the video below you can see all the functions and cool details that makes Benny’s spaceship so awesome! Here is the official description for your convenience: Go intergalactic with The LEGO Movie Benny’s Spaceship, spaceship, SPACESHIP! with detachable wing flyers plus Robo Police interceptor. Benny may have spent too much time in space with a lack of oxygen, but this wacky character is also a Master Builder. Help him construct the Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! of his dreams then help the heroes to evade the Robo Police interceptor. Includes 4 minifigures with accessories: Benny, Astro-Kitty, Wyldstyle and Emmet (in robot disguise). 939 pieces. Price: $99.99 – Available now at the Online LEGO Shop

Aren’t they cool? As I have mentioned above, all three of the new sets are now available at LEGO retailers and at the Online LEGO Shop. I really recommend that you get at least Benny’s spaceship. It is such an iconic set, bringing back so much LEGO history, and at the same time it is a great spaceship in its own right. I have been tinkering with mine for a couple of weeks now and I like everything about it.

I hope my brother can get Benny’s spaceship, it’s so cool. 🙂 Also, at the end of the videos, one of the suggestions is the new Mixels short, and there’s also a new Chima trailer. 😉

Off topic, but I watched Frozen yesterday, and I think I like this ending better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dach1nPbsY8 😕 I also think it deserved at least one Lego set, but I think it’s too late now. 🙁

Yeah, LOL! Exactly! I always thought that movie was about extreme child-abuse. Locking a girl up and telling her to conceal her feelings and talents in her hole life? Plus not able to interact with anyone, including her syster? It was a great movie otherwise, but the parenting in it was terrible. 😕

I think she hid in her room from her sister on her own because even after her parents died she still locked herself in her room, but the first part was definitely legit child abuse. Man, if they released Frozen Lego like the other Disney sets, those would fly off the shevles, I’m sure of it.

Yes, they would. I would hope they make the ice castle she created. That was probably the best part of the movie. Now if only Zane could do that with his elemental weapons. 🙂 I know Lloyd could do something like it, using all the elements. 😐
Horrible parenting is right, too, and (this will sound evil) it seems they paid for it in the movie. 😕

I agree. The movie was/is very popular, and I would really like to see the characters in LEGO. That ice-castle would be awesome! 😀

I think I’m going to skip getting Emmet’s mech because it is so puny compared to the one in the movie.

I agree with that. Also, it has so little movability. I note that the product video shows movement that cannot happen in real life. 😕

Yeah, it does. That’s kind of misinforming…
