All new LEGO sets now on Amazon!

Just thought to mention that many of the LEGO sets that were released at the beginning of August are now also available on Amazon. For those of you who are Amazon Prime members, or if you already shop on Amazon for other items (books, electronics, entertainment, cosmetics, etc.), it is worth checking out the LEGO section. If you would prefer to shop directly from LEGO go here: All New LEGO Sets & Promotions for the Month! and below we will cover what you can find on Amazon from the new selection. 🙂

LEGO Sales on Amazon

Amazon usually have great prices on LEGO as long as it is directly sold by Amazon. Prices are either the same or better as buying directly from LEGO. Amazon also has a third-party selling program, but prices from those sellers are usually higher and also they charge for shipping separately. Basically if you see the Shipped and Sold by Amazon and the Eligible for Free Shipping notice next to the item, you know you are buying directly from Amazon. Also, Amazon has a lower threshold for free shipping than the Online LEGO Shop ($35 instead of $75), and you can combine your LEGO and non-LEGO items in one order. Plus, there is no sales tax in most states. However you don’t get LEGO VIP points. So there are some plusses and minuses either way…

#41059 LEGO Friends Jungle

The new LEGO Friends Jungle Series, as well as the #41058 LEGO Friends Shopping Mall (which is the largest LEGO Friends set to date) are now all available on Amazon. The LEGO Friends Jungle sets are particularly nice with many interesting new elements and animals. Prices on Amazon can fluctuate some, but at the time of this writing they are the same or slightly lower than buying directly from LEGO. The listed price (if sold directly by Amazon) is always going to be the same as LEGO’s own price, or if the price is lower, it will be noted next to the item.

#70146 LEGO Chima Details

All the new icy and fiery set from LEGO Legends of Chima are now available, as well as a whole range of new LEGO Chima Speedorz. Many new tribes have been added this season with some really interesting characters, including some with translucent body parts! It is a little hard to find them on Amazon as they are still new and won’t come up under suggestions, but here are some of the more popular ones.

#42023 LEGO Technic Construction Crew

As we have talked about the other day LEGO Technic got some very interesting new sets this month. If you are into complex and realistic LEGO models that will challenge and amaze you it is worth checking these out. The following ones are available on Amazon from the new selection.

#60036 LEGO Arctic

The highly popular LEGO City Arctic sets are also available on Amazon, including two new additions. If you like this frozen and breezy theme, check them out below.

#44029 LEGO Hero Factory

You can also find on Amazon the new LEGO Hero Factory sets we recently discussed. There are seven new sets with new minifig size heroes and some very interesting elements.

#75052 LEGO Star Wars

All the new LEGO Star Wars sets are also listed on Amazon, including the following listed below. Just follow the links to get to the appropriate listing on Amazon.

Besides these brand new sets, don’t forget about the recently released and very exciting LEGO Ultra Agents, the new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets released last month, the LEGO Ninjago summer sets, and LEGO The Hobbit and LEGO Lord of the Rings sets – most of them are available on Amazon (just follow the links). This month has been very exciting for LEGO fans with many new sets to satisfy everyone’s interests and tastes, and Amazon just gives another option to make shopping a bit easier and also save some dollars in the process. At least that’s the hope. 🙄

So where do you prefer to shop for LEGO? Amazon, the Online LEGO Shop, LEGO store locations, or other local or online retailers? Feel free to share and discuss your favorite shopping places and why you prefer them in the comment section below! 😉

I like the lego online store the best because sometimes there are exclusives that are only on the lego online store.

I tend to buy mainly from bricklink or wholesale but when buying the bigger sets it’s in the lego store. Amazon is convenient but they rarely run discounts on stuff I want. All my lego books come from amazon however

Off-topic but ugh I’m worried I won’t get a Research Institute. Brickfan got an email saying it was only having that one run and they weren’t making anymore. I looked at the re-seller price on Amazon and it’s like almost 3 times the price.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I currently don’t have Internet access at home bcause our modem was fried by lightning yesterday.

Anyhow, I wouldn’t worry about the Research Institute as of yet. In the latest article on the LEGO Ideas website (in the blog section) they specifically address this issue:

“On August 1st, LEGO Ideas launched two sets: #21109 Exo Suit and #21110 Research Institute. Currently, both sets have sold through their initial stock and are back-ordered. This means that more sets are on the way, so we hope you will be able to secure these and other special sets from LEGO Ideas.”

LEGO knows there is large demand for both sets. It makes sense for them to make more, and so far they have been saying that they will make more. They have sold out both the first Minecraft set and also the Curiosity, and they brought them back because of the demand.

Having said that, once the Research Insitute is listed again, I would not delay but get it right away. I think it also won’t hurt to keep calling LEGO like once a week to get an update. It helps them to hurry up with restocking. 😉

Ok good to know! Thank you!

      • Christi August 22, 2014, 1:56 AM

Slightly OT, but do you know if there are plans to make any more Curiosity sets? Can’t believe they wouldn’t take the opportunity to sell more of those, especially given all the publicity it got. How do they decide which sets will be limited (i.e. Curiosity) and which will be produced in higher numbers (and did I miss it, or was the limited run of both sets not really publicized?).

I am also waiting for the Research Institute set to come out; got busy with life and missed the release totally.

        • admin August 22, 2014, 12:01 PM

Christi, the Curiosity is gone for good. It actually sold out rigth away, and was brough back a second time, but then that was it. Why? I don’t know. I have no idea why they are pulling a product that obviously sells well. As far as the Reserach Insitute there is an announcement on the LEGO Ideas website that it will be back, along with the Exo Suit, but no date has been given. I was told September when I called LEGO. We shall see…

eBay is best for old legos I like old better. Also lego online store is the best. Walmart is one cent cheaper.

  • MASTEROFFIRE August 15, 2014, 7:57 PM

^ I agree eBay is good for getting bulk LEGO if you just want to build. The Star Wars set Mos Eisley Cantina looks kinda cool, especially that big monster.

Hi, BLProductions here, just trying to clear the info-bars. And, off-topic, but did the Exo suit/ Research Institute ever actually restock today? I saw no change in status. 😕

    • admin August 16, 2014, 1:26 PM

I was told that it will be restocked in September. Right now they are dealing with crealing out backorders.
