As a pleasant and unexpected surprise, LEGO decided to bring back Double VIP Points one more time before the end of the year, but only for one day! This offer is valid only for today until 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. You can earn Double VIP Points both at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. If you have been waiting until the last minute with your Christmas shopping, this is your last chance to pick up some awesome gifts, have them arrive for Christmas, and also earn Double VIP Points. I guess those who hesitate don’t always loose. At least not with LEGO. 🙂

And the good news doesn’t stop there. The #21110 LEGO Ideas Research Institute is now back in stock! This set has been out of stock for months, which caused great disappointment with those who supported the project on LEGO Ideas and would have liked to get a copy, as well as parents who wanted to get it for their children for the holidays. There is a note at the online listing of this set: “The Research Institute is available now online with limited quantities, so be sure to order as soon as possible. It is coming soon to LEGO Brand retail locations and is expected to be available within two weeks.” To be fair to all customer who have been looking for this set, there is a limit of one copy per order or household. I would suggest that you don’t hesitate and get this set as soon as possible at the Online LEGO Shop.

Also, remember that several of sets scheduled for release January 2015 in the LEGO Creator, LEGO City and LEGO Technic categories, have been listed early and are now available. You can find the large exclusive sets under the Hard to Find Items and Exclusives section of the Online LEGO Shop.

One last chance at double points. I’d make a couple purchases but I’ve already bought all the LEGO gifts I’m giving. Too bad they didn’t release the Double Decker Couch set early. I could get that for someone.

Yeah, that would have been nice. I’m also looking forward to that set! 😛

Too bad the Research Institute went sold out yesterday. It now says “This set was overwhelmingly popular and is no longer available for purchase. Limited quantity is expected at LEGO Brand retail locations the week of December 14, 2014. Please check back for the new LEGO Ideas set in January!” Sheesh, this set seems more popular than the Exo-suit. 😐 And I’m done shopping for this year (I think), so I just have to watch everything feel out…it seems like LEGO’s getting rid of half the SW sets. 😕

The Research Institute was still available this morning. It started to say backordered later, but you could still get it. However my around noon it was gone. I think I’m also done shopping for this year. Saving up for the sets in January. BTW, I was told by my direct contact at LEGO that the Elves sets are not coming out until March. I was pretty disappointed because I really wanted them sooner. Anyhow, the Detective’s Office should keep me busy for a while. 😉

Really? It was available this morning? Huh, it was sold out yesterday afternoon, but I suppose it restocked. 😕
I can wait for the Elves sets, although I would have hoped for February. I’m going to be hunting for all the older sets I want then, before they sell out. 🙂

Yeah, it was probably fluctuating some for a while. It is common for sets that sell really fast.

Man, when are they going to get the research institute in stock! I want the Dinosaur! Its so awesome. Too bad I wasn’t on here yesterday to see this. When do they usually restock?

BLProductions December 15, 2014 at 1:52 PM

It is supposed to be available in limited quantities at LEGO stores this week (not online, though). So, if you want it, I would suggest finding a way to get to your nearest LEGO Store. 😉

The RE was in stock this past weekend. Unfortunately it is now sold out, and according to the note, it is not going to be restocked. However LEGO stores also got a new stock, so if there is one near you, you should be able to get it. 🙂
