February 2015 – new LEGO sets & promotions

Can you believe it’s already February? Winter is actually a great time for building with LEGO, especially for those who are covered under some serious snow (not that any of us LEGO nuts need an excuse)! So today we will look at what new sets, special offers and deals LEGO is offering this month. Although January was the big month with a huge range of new sets (see: January 2015 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions), February also has a lot to offer, including a super special and highly anticipated LEGO Ultimate Collector Series set. So let’s take a look. 🙂

February 2015 LEGO Store Calendar

2015 LEGO SEASONAL VALENTINE’S DAY SET: At least in the USA, the big thing this month is Valentine’s Day (February 14th), and LEGO released a super special little set for this event, the #40120 LEGO Seasonal Valentine’s Day Dinner. This is a small, 114 piece set for only $10, but it is so full of winning details and hard-to-find accessories, it is absolutely worth picking it up either as a gift, or even for yourself. I would expect this set is going to sellout before mid-month, so get it while you can. You can find it in the Seasonal section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2015 LEGO CITY NEW SETS & FREE POLYBAG: While last month the focus was on the newly released LEGO City Swamp Police line (I highly recommend you check these out as they are really fun), this month it is all about demolition vehicles (some are listed now, and some will be available in March). To sweeten the deal, LEGO is offering a free #30312 LEGO City Demolition Driller set with any purchase over $35 from February 1st to the 20th. Learning from last month’s fiasco of the free sets running out within the first couple of days even though they supposed to last for the entire month, if you would like to get this freebie, I would suggest you place your order as soon as possible. You can find all the 2015 LEGO City sets at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2015 LEGO City

2015 LEGO FRIENDS SETS: There was a large wave of LEGO Friends sets released in January (we will talk about these in detail shortly), so there are no new sets this month, however from February 1st to the 28th you can get 25% off the #41032 LEGO Friends First Aid Jungle Bike with any $40 purchase. This is a sweet little set with a very nice azure-colored motorbike and lots of fun accessories. You can find all of the 2015 LEGO Friends sets at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO VIP EARLY ACCESS: From February 17th to the 28th LEGO VIP members get early access to the #76042 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ultimate Collector Series Avengers Helicarrier (it will be available for non-VIP members in March). You can read the full press-release with all the details and see the designer-video here: LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier Press-Release. Once the set becomes available it should be listed under the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2015 LEGO ULTRA AGENTS SETS: The highly popular and very-very cool LEGO Ultra Agents line got a second wave of sets (with a third one coming in the summer). If you are into agents, spies, drones and cyber-criminals, I strongly recommend you check out these sets. They all come with a lot of play-value, a great range of minifigures, and lots of awesome details and transforming features. They are just as awesome as LEGO’s licensed sets but without the higher price due to licensing fees. While they are now readily available at many retail stores they are not listed for release until March at the LEGO Ultra Agents section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2015 LEGO MIXELS SETS: Yes, LEGO Mixels are here to stay with more and more new waves! These goofy little characters have become very popular collector items, as well as great part-packs containing rare and/or very useful elements and colors. Just like in the previous waves, this one includes three tribes with three new characters in each. You can find all of the 2015 sets (along with some of the previously released ones) at the LEGO Mixels section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2015 LEGO Mixels Sets

2015 LEGO JUNIORS SETS: This is a fairly new line for LEGO first introduced last year. Its target is younger kids who are transitioning from LEGO DUPLO to regular LEGO sets. They all contain normal LEGO minifigures, but the construction of the sets themselves are very easy (like for example vehicles have a moulded one-piece base). For adult LEGO fans the most interesting thing about this theme is that they contain many very nicely decorated elements, and they are all printed – there are zero stickers in these sets. This is another theme that while the sets are readily available at many retail stores they are not listed for release until March at the LEGO Juniors section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2015 LEGO City Sets

Also, it is worth mentioning that the LEGO Pirates sets are already listed under the LEGO Pirates section of the Online LEGO Shop. Although you can’t buy them until March, you can check out all the pictures and read the details on each set. Another theme where the new sets are already listed but you can’t buy them yet is LEGO Ninjago. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

#70413 LEGO Pirates Details

In addition to the above mentioned deals and promotions, if you live near an official LEGO store, there are plenty of events you can participate in this month. On February 3rd the Monthly Mini Model Build will be a small LEGO Space Shuttle, and continuing from January until February 15th there is a LEGO Friends Racing Play event at the store. From February 16th-22nd, we got a LEGO City Demolition Search & Find where kids can find hidden sets around the store and get a LEGO City Activity Book. Also, from February 16th to March 15th there are LEGO DUPLO Building Events to participate in.

February 2015 LEGO Store Calendar Events

And don’t forget that if you got the 2015 LEGO Wall Calendar that was offered previously, don’t forget to redeem the free LEGO Hoth Han Solo Minifigure coupon with any purchase during this month. And if you are shopping online, it is worth taking a look at the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop before you check out. There are some nice sets there with a good discount, and likely more will be added as they get retired.

While I do want one or two rokit mixels at some point, no I am not excited for feburary ‘s releases. The ONLY thing that Id be excited for is if Lego would officially tell us when/if they are going to get off their lazy duff to get wave 6 friend animals to the states!

I have waves 1 to 5 on display and no official wave 6 to put on display to finish my collection. I am making a recreation but wave 6 but id rather have the real deal to display instead of the recreation when I’m duon’t with it

Sherrie, yeah, it is frustrating as those are cute little sets. I would love to get them too! 😐

      • Sherrie February 1, 2015, 1:17 PM

Its going WAY beyond frustrating for me. I could understand them not being out IF we had an upcoming release date for them. I could even be fine if Lego officially announed they weren’t coming and I could stop spending half my internet time keeping an eye out for rumors. Just tell us anything Lego! I seriously feel like I’m the only one not drooling over 2015 sets or cmfs and instead wanting word on when we’ll get series 6 animals

        • admin February 1, 2015, 1:55 PM

Sherrie, I hate to say this, but they may be even skipping the series. These are not big money makers for LEGO, nor are they really a fully developed and marketed series (like for example the Collectible Minifigs), so they may think it’s not a big deal. Of course it can be a big deal to collectors. Another (more hopeful) option is that they will release them with the next wave of LEGO Friends sets.

    Awesome!!!!!!

  • Jack the Ninja February 1, 2015, 12:28 PM

Admin remember Ninjago Episodes on here? when the new series came though the episodes didn’t play until like a few days ago.

    • admin February 1, 2015, 1:56 PM

Yes, those were awesome days! BTW, I did post some of the recent episodes a few days ago. Just check under the Ninjago section. 😉

  • BLProductions February 1, 2015, 1:22 PM

I will be skipping LEGO in February in anticipation for March. However, I’m greatly interested in the Mixels, and I plan to get Globert at some point, and maybe more if Series 5 and 6 don’t look promising (which I doubt from the picture we have). Also about Mixels, they are all “out of stock, will ship in 30 days” and I’m not sure it was everyone buying them that it was like that. 😕 And can someone ask them to fix the Ultra Agents page? Even your listing of it admin calls Drillex’ Diamon Job “false.” 😕
Also, more Scooby Doo: http://brickset.com/article/14085/pictures-of-two-more-scooby-doo-sets That plane is sweet! 🙂

    • admin February 1, 2015, 1:28 PM

One of the biggest things this month is really the Helicarrier. The rest depends of personal preference, I would say. The new Mixels were available this morning, so I guess they are out of stock already, but I’m sure they will restock. Also, often when they put that note up they are just trying to slow orders, and you often in fact get your order much faster than that. It happened to my orders many times.

I don’t know what’s up with the Ultra Agents Page. I can’t fix it as I just copy it directly from LEGO, but yeah, hopefully they will update that before the set actually becomes available. And yes, the Scooby-Doo plane is sweet! That was my exact first reaction too! 😛

I’m saving up for the pirates sets.(now that I know when they are come out and have time to save.) I only have part of the first pirate sets from a couple of years ago. I want to complete what I missed . The prices are great (not to expensive )

  • legodeal February 2, 2015, 2:06 AM

    Thank you!!

  • Lloydguy February 2, 2015, 11:27 AM

Umm… Ultra Agents is coming out in March. So, I got the Galaxy Trooper from Series 13 to use the armor as Ultra Armor for the Ultra Train I built, that also can fly. I also am three pieces away from a perfect P.U.P. One droid body, and two of the cheese plates.

    • Lloydguy February 2, 2015, 11:29 AM

I forgot to mention the agent is Lloyd Garmadon! #NinjagoAgents! (Not a real # (to my knowlege))

  • BLProductions February 2, 2015, 1:27 PM

How come there’s no new post today, admin? (I know someone usually asks, so I might as well.) 😕
Also: http://brickset.com/article/14090/best-pictures-yet-of-deep-sea-explorers-sets That boat looked pretty ugly, but I must say that set is pretty cool. 4 sharks in one set must be a record! 🙂 I think the Deep Sea Scooter is the best of the whole wave though. 😐

    • admin February 2, 2015, 2:39 PM

Needed a break. Writing two to four hours a day, every day, with work and school is not easy. Did some yard-work instead and went on a bike-ride. I think the boat Deep Sea sets look great. I doubt I will get any as I just don’t have the room and there are other sets I would like to get this year, but I don’t think they disappoint. That ship is BIG! 😛

      • BLProductions February 2, 2015, 4:17 PM

Oh, yeah, that break sounds much needed. 🙂
The ship’s hull is about 37 studs long, 16 studs wide, and 6-8 studs tall, by my calculations. That makes it pretty big. However, I find I like the sinker ship better, even if it doesn’t float. 😉
Off-topic, but has anyone heard when the 2015 Ninjago episodes will air in the US? I would expect them to be this month, but I’m not sure. 😕

        • BLProductions February 2, 2015, 4:19 PM

Whoops, “sinked” is not a word. I meant sunken. And a sinker ship isn’t a real thing either, to my knowledge. 😐

          • admin February 2, 2015, 4:21 PM

LOL! That’s funny, because I was just writing an article, and my spell-checker said that there is no such word as spinned. I was like, how could that be? It sounds so much better than spun! 😕

        • admin February 2, 2015, 4:19 PM

The new Ninjago episodes will start airing on Cartoon Network on February 23rd. The date was announced in the March LEGO Store Catalog. 😉

  • LegoUniverse Bob February 2, 2015, 3:29 PM

Admin, what about today’s post? I don’t see anything for today and I’m just curious why. :S

    • admin February 2, 2015, 3:31 PM

I have already answered that question. Just needed a break. 😉

  • David Tennant Lover February 2, 2015, 10:08 PM

I was always a fan of the Lego Pirates, and have quite a few of the sets from 2009. Defiantly I will be getting my hand on that Valentines Day set because it comes with some cool peices. The Helicarrier is a bit pricy but if your a dedicated fan, there’s no way you won’t get this.
