LEGO Elves: Dragons to Save – mini-movie

LEGO Elves is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting series of sets LEGO ever released. While all the LEGO Elves sets are beautiful, they became even more magical when a collection of dragons became the focal point. We have discussed the sets already (see: 2016 LEGO Elves Summer Sets Review), and today we will take a look at the story behind the LEGO Elves dragon sets. 🙂

When LEGO Elves was first introduced in 2015, LEGO also released a number of short videos to introduce the story and the characters, and later a 24-minute mini-movie titled LEGO Elves: Unite the Magic (watch here: LEGO Elves: Unite the Magic – Full Episode). Since then the LEGO Elves story continued through short webisodes at the official LEGO Elves website.

While the short videos are fun to watch, it is the longer mini-movies that really allow you to immerse yourself in the magic of LEGO Elves. So LEGO released another mini-movie titled LEGO Elves Dragons to Save, Time to Be Brave. This is a 45-minute mini-movie in two parts, which you can watch below. Enjoy the show!

That was fun, isn’t it? The animation for LEGO Elves is not as sophisticated as for example for LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Legends of Chima, or LEGO Nexo Knights, but I think the style fits the story well, and the artwork of the landscape is beautiful.

If you are inspired by the mini-movie, you can also check out the currently available LEGO Elves sets. A lot of LEGO fans collect the baby and adult dragons, and or course the elves themselves. You can find them all under the LEGO Elves section of the Online LEGO Shop.

These multi-color baby dragons seem very inspired by the old My Little Pony baby dragons from the 80’s. Spike and whatever else they were called.

The original Princess Dragons. Spike is the only one frequently featured in other incarnations of the franchise, however.

Apparently most of these dragons were only released for the UK market, and it appears that most other regions had a “bushwoolie” instead.

Interesting! Maybe I should do some research and write an article on LEGO dragons. Or you can do it, since you are almost half way there! 😀

Oh, good notice! I haven’t thought of that. I knew they reminded me of something! 😀

    Hi!
I don’t really like lego elves (they should have made it lego alves)!
But the sets are great though.

Yeah, LEGO Elves sets are gorgeous. Really more a work of art than just a building toy. The colors, the shapes, the magic… LEGO Elves is sort of the girl version of Ninjago, and now they have dragons too! 😀

Thanks for posting this! My kids will love it! The Elves sets are wonderful, and both boys and girls can enjoy them.

Yeah, Elves are pretty gender neutral, although I think it would be nice if they would add a few more boy elves. So far there have been only three. I’m looking forward to next season, where we should be getting some goblins! 😀

Sounds nice! Are they scurrier – from Nexo Knights – recolors or what?

I have only seen one picture and it was too blurry to make it out. The picture has been pulled since then, so I can’t link to it.

My son loves Elves! This will be perfect for the weekend!

Great to hear that! The video is good entertainment. I watched it last weekend. Not as sophisticated as Ninjago, but still very nice.
