Scooby-Doo LEGO Friends & LEGO Star Wars

When we recently talked about the newly released 2018 LEGO Friends sets, several of our readers pointed out that the #41339 LEGO Friends Mia’s Camper Van looks very much like a LEGO Scooby-Doo vehicle due to the very similar color-scheme. 🙂

Indeed, the #75902 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine  (and also the #75901 LEGO Scooby-Do Mystery Plane Adventures) use the same lime-green and orange combination as the LEGO Friend’s Camper Van. However, while the Scooby-Doo sets add medium-azure to the mix, the LEGO Friends set uses dark-azure. They are very similar colors, but medium-azure is somewhat lighter and more greenish, while dark-azure is more bluish. In addition, the LEGO Friends Camper Van also includes quite a bit of white, and some lavender. However, ignoring those slight differences, the LEGO Friends Camper Van definitely has a Scooby-Doo vibe!

Our readers are not the only ones who noticed the resemblance. LEGO fan BashfulWitness completely reworked the #41339 LEGO Friends Mia’s Camper Van, including switching out all the dark-azure pieces to medium-azure, and ditching the lavender and white. There is also now a steering wheel (strangely, the original LEGO Friends Camper Van didn’t have one), and everything is decorated with Scooby-Doo stickers and printed parts. Looks awesome, isn’t it? (You can see more pictures here.)

The LEGO Friends Camper Van is not the only set BashfulWitness Scooby-Doo’ed. Check out these colorful versions of the Star Wars AT-AT and a couple of AT-ST walkers, operated by the whole Scooby-Doo gang! Notice that while the AT-AT is a modified #75802 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, the AT-ST walkers are using the mini Mystery Machine from the #71206 LEGO Dimensions Scooby-Doo Team Pack. You can see more pictures of the vehicles here and here.

And how about this Scoby-Doo TIE Fighter, also built by  BashfulWitness. The design is based on the #75101 LEGO Star Wars First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter and, of course, the #75802 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine. You can see more pictures here.

If you would like to play around with the LEGO Scooby-Doo sets, they are no longer available directly from LEGO (they were released back in 2015), however you can still get them on Amazon, and other secondary LEGO marketplaces. The #75802 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine is a particularly good purchase because it includes some really nice printed pieces, stickers and colors specific to the collection: LEGO SCOOBY-DOO SETS ON AMAZON, and of course, the newly released LEGO Friends Camper Van is available directly from LEGO at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO Friends Scooby-Doo camper van and the LEGO Star Wars Scooby-Doo walkers? Are there any other sets you would like to see modified with Scooby-Doo colors? Feel free to share your thoughts and own ideas in the comment section below! 😉

Ha-ha! This is great! Love the colors and decorations! And Mia’s trailer definitely looks better!

Yeah, I like the camper better too than the original. If they want to make it with such outrageous colors, might as well go all the way and do it right. 😀

That camper is awesome! And the star wars ones are great too. Now I want to rebuild all my sets in Scooby colors! 😀

Best thing ever!!!! The Star Wars ones! How many mystery machines this guy have?

    • admin January 20, 2018, 6:15 PM

I asked the same question, and they said they have three more. 😉

That new camper actually seems more fit and comfy for five teenagers and a dog.

    • Håkan January 21, 2018, 5:04 AM

Wait, four teenagers and a dog, sorry…

      • admin January 21, 2018, 1:29 PM

It’s hard to count teenagers. 😀

Particularly when they’re hunkered about in a WV van…

The camper looks much better than the original. Really great idea! And of course, the SW ones are super too!

So, that’s what the Empire is after, more Scooby snacks. Those are some cool set ideas . I particularly love the Scooby Doo Star Wars ideas. Or should it be called ” The Scooby – fighter”?

    • Håkan January 21, 2018, 8:13 PM

“Doo Fighter” … or maybe not…

      • Håkan January 21, 2018, 8:14 PM

“Fright Fighter” ? I.e. not a fighter that’s frightening, but a fighter fighting frights!

        • admin January 21, 2018, 8:20 PM

If I ever get a fighter, I’m so going to call it that! Fighter Fighting Frights sounds so good! FFF for short? Or maybe Fx3? 😈

Swoosh. A couple more days and you could have included the X-Wing too 🙂 https://imgur.com/a/yPSvq
