LEGO Friends & LEGO Star Wars mash-ups

With the second part of The LEGO Movie coming next year, we will finally get LEGO Space Friends (well, at least one)! This is something many fans of LEGO Friends have been hoping to get for a long time. Ever since LEGO Friends was first released back in 2012, customizers have been modifying mini-dolls to operate spaceships, mechs, tanks, and other rugged vehicles. Changing helmets and headgear is easy, as LEGO Friends have the same size heads as regular LEGO minifigs, but having a full space-suit is new! We have already discussed LEGO Friends military and space mini-dolls several times in the past (see links at the end of this post), and today, I thought to share with you some of my favorite LEGO Friends and LEGO Star Wars mash-ups by LEGO fan Tyler Sky. 🙂

The BFF (Best Friends Forever) Y-Wing is the property of the Heartlake City Rebel Alliance. Piloted by Emma, this bad boy is always prepared to defend the skies over the city. There is also room for a gunner and a co-pet. Take a look at the sweet color combinations and details!

And how about Stephanie’s T-70 X-Wing, with a sweet color-scheme, and great maneuverability to handle fast and furious battles?

When the friends prefer transportation on land, this pink and turquoise land-cruiser with big thrusters should do it. It can carry lots of pets too, but Jedi powers must still be used to keep away the dark side.

Meanwhile, just outside the limits of Hothlake City, a repurposed AT-AT (now used as a pet taxi service) is getting a much needed weekly cleaning – writes Tyler. Keeping this mechanical marvel in top condition is no small feat, requiring the assistance of many helpers including a pair of drones, a couple of Tauntauns, and many friends. A repurposed turret installation helps to get water up to those hard to reach spots! Emma and Andrea came along to help out after a long day of courier deliveries made with their Snow Speeder. Landings are still a bit rough but they will get the hang of it soon enough!

And here is a friendly pod racer, powered by two jet-assisted scooters, and operated by a friendly puppy. I like that there are snacks packed for everyone in case they exert themselves too much in the race and get hungry!

Tyler created many other LEGO Friends and LEGO Star Wars combinations, so if you are interested, I recommend checking out his flickr gallery. If you would like to have your own LEGO Friends pilots, the currently available LEGO Friends Racing sets are really good sources for parts and mini-dolls with cute racing suits (could be repurposed as space suits). Remember, that headgear is interchangeable with regular minifigs, so you could use any helmet you like. You can find the sets at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like these LEGO Friends and LEGO Star Wars combinations? Do you use LEGO Friends mini-dolls outside of the standard Heartlake City setting? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

This should be part of the Lego Movie 2. Little sister taking over her big brother’s star wars sets! Then, we will get matching sets too!

LOL! The kids will love these! I guess you can just take some star wars sets and replace some of the boring grays with friends colors.
