How does this stand up? Won’t it topple over? It looks amazing but fragile. But then I see Justin pick it up with just one hand and flip it around. It defies gravity! 😀

I have no idea what Stranger Things is, but this is one of the most interesting sets I have ever seen! The design is brilliant!

Never watched the show but this is a brilliant set! The way to attach the top and bottom is ingenious and the mirror aspect is of course extremely eye catching.

I am a Stranger Things fan. I had no idea Lego was doing this. This is amazing! I honestly don’t have room to display this, but i think i have to find a way.

I have missed this series, possibly mostly to me not having NetFlix, myself, but it does look pretty nifty. Kind of like a mash-up between Goonies and Twin Peaks…

The set also appears quite creative, although I lack both the time, space and money to build it, for the moment…

One of the most interesting, unique, and impressive sets I’ve ever seen. I watch the show, but it’s not one of my favorite franchises.
The Minifigures, by and large, are fantastic!
I wish it weren’t $200, although I’m not claiming it’s over-priced. It just doesn’t work in my town, so it’s hard to justify the price. Maybe, if it ever goes on sale, I’ll pick one up for my archives.
LEGO sure seems to know what it’s doing right now, though.

It’s a limited release marketed as a collector’s item, from what I can see. A sale of extra stock seems unlikely…

You think there is a limited number of this set ?
I’m now a little afraid to miss it…so i’m going to use my points on the VIP card…

I’m fairly certain it will be around for a while. At least until Christmas would make sense. There was no mention that this is a limited release set. It’s possible that it will go on backorder at times, but it should be around until there is demand.

Hmmm, I might have spoken too soon.

But is it common with high-profile sets like this going on sale?

It depends. Remember the classic Batman set? That one went on sale several times before it was finally retired. It really depends on how well it sells. I think this one will be better received than the Batman set, but it’s hard to know.

Stranger Things has a huge fan base. I’m fairly certain that this set will be available for a while.

This is such an interesting set. It’s so hard to believe it won’t just topple over. Can the two layers be separated to put them side by side?

Håkan May 16, 2019 at 11:47 AM

Yeah, they’re connected by balls and sockets, I’ve seen. If you have enough flat space, it seems like something that could be done easily.

My brother and my sister-in-law just built the set, and although the two sides can be separated, it cannot be done easily without partially taking the it apart. In other words, it’s not meant to be separated at the joint between the two houses. The balls and sockets are only there as a building technique to solve the studless connection point, but they are also connected at the trees. You would have to take the trees apart.

Oh, my! I have to get this set for myself, I think. It looks like they crammed everything into it. The mirrored Upside Down is a brilliant solution!

Dang, that ad is quite the throwback to the 80’s! Also, I’m not sure I’ve ever been aware of you having a YouTube channel, Admin! That’s cool! 😀

I remember 80’s ads where they had cars and stuff being built “automatically” through stop-motion animation. It would’ve been cool if they did that here, at least for the pick-up…

Oh, that’s a great idea! 😀
