LEGO Double VIP Points On All Purchases!

Just a little bit of update to brighten your weekend. LEGO is currently offering Double VIP Points on all purchases. This offer is valid until the end of the week (March 29th). If you have been thinking about getting something new, this is a good time to make a purchase. As LEGO store locations are temporarily closed in response to the COVID-19 situation, current offers will be honored online at LEGO.com and on LEGO catalog telephone orders only, until further notice. Also, remember that LEGO offers free shipping on all purchases over $35.

Some of the larger new sets you might consider include the #71044 LEGO Disney Train and Station, the #76139 LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile, the #10270 LEGO Creator Bookshop, the #75252 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer, the #10272 LEGO Creator Old Trafford – Manchester United, the #10269 LEGO Creator Fiat 500, the #21321 LEGO Ideas International Space Station, and more. You can find the full selection of new sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

Also, remember that the new LEGO Star Wars Buildable Helmets are now available for pre-order. You can find them at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Just because it’s Double VIP Points time, it doesn’t mean you have to focus on big sets. There are many great sets with moderate prices under LEGO City, LEGO Creator, LEGO Super Heroes, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Disney, LEGO Friends, LEGO Technic, and more. If you have children who currently have to stay home, focus on sets that can provide that with many hours of playtime and/or could also be converted into learning opportunities. LEGO Classic, LEGO Creator, and LEGO Technic are particularly good for this, and the new LEGO DOTS line is excellent for arts and crafts. You can check out the full selection at the Online LEGO Shop.

If you want to stretch your dollars further, take a look at the sales section of the Online LEGO Shop, where you can find slightly older and retiring sets for 20%-50% off.

What do you think? Are you planning to take advantage of the Double VIP Points period? What are you going to get? Or do you already have plenty to build with? What are you working on? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

I just thought I’d chime in and point out that I wanted to get the Book Shop but it was out of stock and the site stated it would be back the beginning of April. Several other items were also out of stock but they still had the Ford Mustang so I’m happy I was able to purchase that. Then the next day the Book Shop was listed back in stock. I’m not unhappy with Lego for this happening, but it taught me that the date for when Lego gets items back in stock can happen sooner than they anticipate.

Just FYI: when something is showing as out of stock, you can still order it, and even if it takes them a while to ship it, you will get whatever special was offered at the time of your purchase. So don’t hold off an order just because the set you want is backordered. You will be at the front of the queue and will often get your order faster than anticipated.

If you buy more than one thing, and only some are on backorder, they will often send them in separate packages. My last order came in three separate packages. I thought that was excessive, but they always want to please their customers.

Just a correction on this. Out of stock means there are no more sets made. They are no longer available for purchase, and the button will be grayed out. Backorder means that the set can be purchased, but there will be a delay which is usually stated on the page, and you will also get an email about it. I just wanted to clarify this as you used both terms.

Thanks for the info, Brickmaster and Yoladiel! Yeah, to be correct they were ‘on back order’. I thought the item had to be in stock to get the double points. I’ll keep that in mind for future purchases.

I hope lego is doing okay with all this coronavirus stuff. They just made the announcement about how well they were doing last year and their plans for this year, then all of this happened. Money is very tight for a lot of people and there is so much uncertainty.

When is pirate bay coming out? Is that going to be available after the double points? Or can I order it now?

Just ordered the bookshop and it was in stock. I ordered it about 5 minutes ago. I wonder if Lego has more than one warehouse in various areas in the world? I know they have Lego factories all over the place. 🤔

Good choice! I have the Book Shop too, but haven’t built it yet.

LEGO actually has very few warehouses and factories. They like to keep their operations lean and mean. The US has only one warehouse, and Europe also only has one. I believe they recently opened one in Australia. And there should be at least one in Asia. And they have four factories; Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and China. There is also a factory in the Czech Republic, where they make packaging.

Target has 20% off most city sets plus 5% for the target card. Same for some other sets.
Unless you think the Easter promos are great, Target is a better deal.

So, off topic. I decided to make the monster fighters Haunted House into the hidden sides headquarters. It’s actually hot rod Grandma’s home and one ghost hangs around the house but, that’s ok because it’s grandpa. Among the minifigure series there was one Sherlock Holmes minifigure and the one that can pass up as Watson. I’m going to have them live in the town house that comes with the Bookshop set. They can join the hidden sides team to search why things are being hunted. I also have the tuning shop set and they are also part of the team. Bikers Against ghost. LOL!

I’m going to be honest. I’m starting to feel depressed and worried. This whole virus thing is so crazy. I stopped watching the news. I turn to lego, but it’s hard because at the back of my mind I know life is not normal. Not at all. I hope this will be over soon. How are you guys dealing with the whole thing?

    • Nofakebricks March 27, 2020, 5:06 PM

Same here. I also had to stop watching the news and going on Facebook. People scare me. One half is demanding martial law, the other half is saying the whole thing is a hoax. I just want life to be normal already.

      • LEGOJeff March 27, 2020, 5:15 PM

Same. The COVID-19 and toilet paper memes and songs were funny for a while, but I’m getting tired of them. I cope by getting regular exercise. But yesterday I was biking, and I felt this sharp pain in my chest. I think it was from all the anxiety. Take care you guys.

        • Thita (admin) March 27, 2020, 10:15 PM

Exercise, sleep, healthy food, and lost of water are all important. Also sunshine! And keep some routine even if you are stuck at home. It’s tough, but we will come out better and wiser after all of this had passed. Hang in there!

      • Thita (admin) March 27, 2020, 10:18 PM

Yeah, I know what you mean by social media. But there is also some good info. So just limit your usage and follow people/groups that share practical local news and opportunities. For example, in my local community the hospital is working with volunteers to make masks. I would have never heard of this unless I read it on Facebook. Helping out in the community also helps with your own mood. Just do what you can, you you’re welcome to share here too. Stay safe!

    • Thita (admin) March 27, 2020, 10:23 PM

Yeah, this is rough on everyone. Many people lost their jobs, or stuck at home, or even sick. Keep in touch with friends and family. Help each other out in practical ways (while practicing social distancing), keep as much normalcy as possible. And most importantly, do everything to keep yourself healthy.

  • Legostuff14 March 27, 2020, 5:47 PM

I hear you guys and feel the same way. It’s hard to handle being forced to stay home and do things that you normally do at free will as opposed to you have to do it in order to keep your sanity. Like forcing to build a Lego set because there is nothing else to do and try to enjoy the building part of the set. Sitting around and watching movies and/or play video games until your fingers fall off. Just remember every time you wake up and your not sick count yourself lucky. Use the day the best you can. Plus maybe check on your Neighbors and see how they’re doing or maybe help out. See if they need anything. Please be safe and remember this is not permanent is it temporary. For those of you that are dealing with anxiety issues. There are tricks out there to calm your anxiety. One , take a deep breath and count to four while doing it and then count to four breathing out and do it slowly ( repeat). Second, there is a 5 step procedure 5. Count the five things in your house that you can see. 4 for smells that you can smell that around or in your house. 3 listen to the four sounds that are around or in your house. 2. Touch two things in around your house. And I’ve forgotten the number 1 on what to do,but basically Focus what’s outside of your mind and not so much in your mind to Center yourself like a meditation. It does help speaking from experience. Take care guys.( I may have reversed 3 and 4 steps so try it that way instead)

There are some apps using this same method. I can’t remember the name of the one I used to use, but it was very helpful. It gets your mind off from the dark thoughts and brings you back to the light.

Thanks for sharing this. Very thoughtful. Stay safe and healthy! 🙂
