The #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set has been inspiring many LEGO fans to turn it into a LEGO Modular Building. The set was released towards the end of last year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Friends, the very popular American TV sitcom. It recreates the café style studio setting with many authentic details, including the iconic seating area for the friends, a stage where Phoebe performed her songs on guitar, and a service area with a coffee machine, service counter, cash register, etc. LEGO designers also went all out on the characters, making them as authentic as possible, including their clothing, hairstyles, and accessories.
The #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set is actually quite similar to the #21302 LEGO Ideas Big Bang Theory that was released back in 2015. That set also depicted a group of friends in an indoor setting that was arranged like a stage with furniture pieces and various home décor. It was perfect for decorating the interior of a LEGO Modular Building.
And in some ways, the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set is even better equipped to be mixed with a LEGO Modular Building. It has a very nice color-scheme, an interesting layout, and tons of furniture pieces and accessories. And it even has a tastefully designed exterior, which the #21302 LEGO Ideas Big Bang Theory was lacking. All of this means that the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set is practically begging to be turned into a LEGO Modular Building. Below, I will show you some examples of what LEGO fans have done with the set.
The LEGO Central Perk Big Bang Theory Modular by Berthil van Beek combines the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set and the #21302 LEGO Ideas Big Bang Theory set into a LEGO Modular Building. The nice exterior of Central Perk makes up the first floor of the exterior, while the gang from Big Bang Theory are on the second floor. You can find many detailed pictures of the layout in Berthil’s Flickr gallery, and you can find the parts-list and free building instructions at Rebrickable.
LEGO fan Jack Brick purchased four of the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk sets to make a single LEGO Modular Building that follows the same style from top to bottom. In the video below, Jack will show you his layout both inside and outside.
The next Central Perk Modular Building by LEGO fan OldBrickTown stacks three of the original layouts on each other with an additional section at the back. I think the angles look quite nice. This project is still under construction, and you can see more pictures at their Instagram account.
Pierre Mary worked out their Central Perk Modular Building digitally with Stud.io by BrickLink before embarking on building it in physical form. As you can see, it’s a quite substantial building.
Not everyone makes the entire building using the style and color-scheme of the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set. LEGO fan EpicEpig101 added a hotel at the back with different colors. I quite like the contrast.
Lego Cy stayed with a similar style, but different color scheme, combining Central Perk with an apartment building. It’s done very tastefully.
As you can see, there are many ways to turn the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set into a LEGO Modular Building, and if you have been toying with the idea yourself, I hope these examples gave you some inspiration. And even if you don’t care for the TV show, this set is fantastic to give you something to start with for making your own coffee shop. If you don’t have it already, you can get it at the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.
What do you think? How do you like the #21319 LEGO Ideas Central Perk set? Do you have it already? Have you thought about incorporating it into a larger building? Or have you done it already? Which one of the examples above do you like the best? Feel free to share your thoughts and own ideas in the comment section below!

I don’t care for Friends, but I like the colors of this set. I guess now I will have to turn it into a modular. Haha.
I really like these. The angled wall at the front and the colors are outstnading. They are my favorite part of this set.
I have thought about turning this eithe rinto a modular or a standalone full building. The interior is amazing, and I especially like the walls.
I guess it could be hard to reach the interior if it would be fully enclosed. Maybe you could add an opening wall or something, like a dollhouse…
Off topic, hey, thita( admin) , my brother may have sent you a photo of a scene he built from Lego. It’s titled “what Lego does when you’re not looking”. It’s a Lego meeting and in the background there’s a chart of a foot with an X on various parts of the foot. As if to teach the Lego piece where to be so they could be stepped on the right parts of the bottom of the foot. Oh, and there are Lego bricks standing around and paying attention to the instructor. I hope he sent it. Sorry had to share. Lol!
Great ideas! I especially like the second one. I would love to make this.
I love the one with the blue hotel. It’s a nice contrast without being overwhelming. At it looks like it was built by a kid???!!!
Well, it must have been a pretty patient kid…
