Cole reaches his full potentail by saving his dad from falling stage lights. His bad relationship with his father is what held him back. He also has super strenth as his power. (this is a fact. i just finished watching the episode for the second time in a row because my brother missed it the first time)

pythors minions throw a box on top of him and his dad and cole becomes extremely strong and starts glowing and lifts the box.
accually, Cole reaches his full potentail by saving his dad from falling stage lights. It is true the minions threw the box but the box was on a zipline-like thing that his the stage lights causing them to fall. His bad relationship with his father is what held him back.
