LEGO Lord of the Rings mini-movies

To provide even more fun to LEGO Lord of the Rings fans, LEGO recreated the Lord of the Rings story with LEGO minifigures in a mini-movie series. The mini-movies follow loosely the original story with adding their own twist of LEGO-humor. Only the first two chapters are available now, but they are really fun! Check them out below. 😉

LEGO Lord of the Rings – Chapter One – The Tale Begins…

LEGO Lord of the Rings – Chapter Two – Through the Mines of Moria

Cute, huh? I always liked LEGO movies and cartoons; They are creative, fun, short and sweet. I hope though that kids won’t get confused thinking that that this is indeed how the real saga of Lord of the Rings goes;  as the story is only followed loosely and the epicness is watered down greatly, replaced with LEGO’s humorous take. What do you think? 🙂

They are really funny. There’s enough of the story for the little ones. Kids should be use to Star Wars and Harry Potter LEGO movies being different than the original material.

Yeah, I liked them too. They are fun! I think more episodes are going to be shown at the current San Diego Comic Con. Hopefully someone will upload them so I can share them here. 🙂

I’m sure they’ll be online this weekend.

    jabbas palace came in

    • legolotr (Nick) July 11, 2012, 9:37 PM

seems as though there will be a rancor pit to go with the palace
p.s. Is the set cool?

      • admin July 11, 2012, 10:01 PM

Yep, I read that too this morning. There is some speculation that Ranchor is going to be brick-built rather than just a big hunk of plastic like the other big guys (trolls, wampa, etc.) I wonder if the pit will be attachable to Jabba’s Palace. 🙄

        • legolotr (Nick) July 11, 2012, 11:22 PM

It will be, because there are four 2 by 2 holes in the bottom of the palace. I think they could just use the cave troll mold for him. I would like that more.

I found this on brickfanatics, and thought it interesting: French site Lord of the Bricks is reporting that spielwaren-kontor24.de are listing what looks to be the list of Hobbit sets due out on the 1st December this year. The list is yet unconfirmed and but it is the best news to go on for now. I expect we will find out more from Comic Con within the next day.

The list was take from here and here. I think it is safe to assume that the set numbers will change but at least we have got something to discuss till we hear more.

The list features 5 sets as follows:

79000 – Mystery of the Ring
79001 – Fleeing From The Mirkwood Spiders
79002 – Attack of the Wargs
    79003 – Bag End
79010 – Cave of the Goblin King

Nick, yeah, I read that as well! I’m waiting to report on it though as we should have more news on it by this weekend, then bundle up the post with the new LOTR minifig pictures. At leasts thats my plan. 😉
I will also write a general post about Comic Con this Saturday as many people don’t even know it exists, or why it is such a big deal for LEGO fans. 🙂
I’m very much looking forward to the Hobbit sets! I have been waiting for LOTR sets all my life! 😀
