LEGO recently introduced a new incentive to buy at the Online LEGO Shop by introducing free shipping on all orders over $75 every day and forever… well, at least until 2016… This will make online shopping so much more convenient; no need to wait for promotions or special offers for free shipping, which typically only happened around holidays. So, “Yay!” to LEGO for introducing everyday free shipping! 🙂
As we discussed previously there are lots of new LEGO sets released this summer; including the second wave of LEGO Galaxy Squad, a brand new LEGO Castle line, and new sets in the LEGO Creator, LEGO Legends of Chima, LEGO City, LEGO DUPLO and LEGO Hero Factory lines.
And there is also the LEGO Lone Ranger line, brand new for this summer and based on the Lone Ranger movie that will be released early July. Even if the movie flops (hopefully it won’t) the sets should be very popular with LEGO Western fans.
Oh, and besides free shipping you will also get a free exclusive Jor-El minifigure with purchases of $75 or more. Once your purchase reaches $75, your free exclusive LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Jor-El Minifigure will be automatically added to your shopping bag. Available only through the Online LEGO Shop and official LEGO stores.
Besides LEGO Super Heroes here are some of the other new LEGO sets and themes this month that you might like to check out.
So what do you think? How do you like LEGO’s new offer for everyday free shipping? Are you planning to take advantage of it anytime soon? I know I’m planning to pick up at least one of the new LEGO Galaxy Squad sets, and I’m waiting for the release of the new LEGO Master Builder Academy set next month. What about you? What are you getting this summer? Feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉

That’s cool and all…but, I have never bought of of LEGO.com. Cause amazon is so much cheaper! like there are sets that have gone down $20 since the time they came out! And I wish the new star wars sets would come out already!! But I guess I have to wait till august the first…
Oh and I entered the LOTR fathers day building challenge! If you want to see it just type EarthNinja5000 in the search thing on the LOTR lego galleries 🙂
Jay, Amazon may be cheaper on the front end, but you don’t get VIP points on your purchases. 😉
Gonna have to agree with Jay here. LEGO VIP points don’t go very far when you’re comparing $5 for every $100 spent with $20-30+ off of $100+ sets at Amazon. Add to that the fact that your local Target will price match Amazon and then you don’t even have to wait for shipping if the item is in stock. However I do make sure to make my purchases directly from LEGO when there are exclusives involved, like the free minifigs/polybags with minimum purchase.
Actually I also shop at Amazon… mostly. What I like about them besides the free shipping, no tax, and in general greal prices is that I can combine my purchase with completely unreleated items. So I might buy a LEGO set, a book, and a new screen-protector for my tablet. Yeah, Amazon is great! 😀
Okay Jay. I’ll check it out. 😉
Alright Jay. I just checked it out and boy you have a lot of LOTR and Hobbit LEGO sets. Do you have all of the first wave of both LOTR and Hobbit?
Uh well I didn’t have any Hobbit sets in that…cept’ that small gollum set. But I do have all the hobbit sets from the first wave but not all of the LOTR ones. for LOTR I only have the imes.
“Imes”? 😕
“The Mines of Moria”, maybe…
LOTR pirate ship ambush finally. 🙂
Yeah! A lot of people have been waiting for that set! 🙂
And the tower of Orthanc comes out in 16 days!!! I’m very exited. 😀
How big is your LEGO collection Admin?
Hm… what kind of answer are you looking for? I’m a MOC-er, not a set-collector, so I do buy sets for parts, and I do buy some full sets occasionally when I really like them. But I can’t just say “I have this many sets” to give you an accurate picture as I mostly shop for parts on Bricklink, and even if I buy full sets I usually part them out. I do have over 500 minifigs for sure as minifig customization and army-building is one of my favorite hobbies. I use drawers to organize my LEGO elements, a full shelf-system with my MOCs and also a closet full of more MOCs I have been working on. Maybe one day I take some pictures and write an article about what I have. 😉
Cool! I’m a LOTR and The Hobbit collector. i’ve never really did any MOCs even though my LEGO collection is MASSIVE!!!! 😉
How many bricks do you have?
In random bricks 15,000+ in sets that i have kept together (which is almost every set i’ve ever bought) 25,000+ plus the LEGO I have in storage. I’ve been collecting for over 8 years and my collection just keeps growing. i have LEGO from almost every theme and all the LOTR and Hobbit sets they’ve released. I’m also a huge ninjago fan. 😉
Wow! That is “MASSIVE”. 😯 I’d say I have 102,500+ bricks (counting minifigs) in mine. Mine has been growing for about the same length of time as you. And like you I have all the LOTR however I only have two Hobbit sets. Meanwhile I’ve got a wide range of other sets including about fifty Star Wars sets. You get the picture: my room is basically made out of LEGO bricks! 😉
WOW!!! that is BIG. I’m not counting minifigures though and yes my room is also made out of LEGO 😀
I also color sort my bricks (and that took FOREVER to do) 😉
I heard a tip that it’s better to sort by shape than color, since it’s much easier to find a brick of a certain color among those shaped alike, than of a certain shape among those colored alike.
I agree, Hakan. And I attempted both to organize by color then by the specific piece though I lost patience and quit.
I agree, and that’s how I organize all my LEGO elements. Although when you have a large amount of the same element in different colors, it might be worth splitting those up by color as well. So type/shape first, color second. 😉
How on earth do you guy know how many LEGO elements you have? 😕
Personally, I used Brickset, which can give a very approximate value automatically, provided you enter all your sets.
Which reminds me, free something forever is usually a bad marketing move. It means the consumers won’t have the “I have to get it now before it’s too late.” Feeling. However, in the case of free shipping…
Thanks Admin for making TBB! 🙂 I’ve never been this seriously committed to LEGO sets and topics until I came across this website. I’ll have to pick up a few Man of Steel sets and I really am eager to see the film. Now that I have a job, I have some money to spend on LEGO sets though most of my earnings will go towards college. I’m happy about this news. One question though: does Jor-el come in a bag or a box or what if you spend $75 or more? By the way I just got the Master Splinters key chain!
Oops! A couple typos there. It should be just, “if you spend $75 or more” not “or what if you spend $75 or more”.
Jor-el comes in a bag.
Meneldur, yeah, it makes a huge difference when you have your own money. That’s when the LEGO hobby becomes really fun! Oh, and we are happy to help you out with your LEGO addiction! 😉
Not sure on how to interpret that last remark…
😀 free shipping woo hoo! pretty excited about that! And my wallet is too! HA-HA! 😀
LOL. Mine is as well! 😀
Hey, I haven’t been commenting for a while because I have been at church camp (great fun, by the way) but now we get cheaper Lego! Does anybody else use online pick-a-brick? I used it and it worked pretty well for me, I got enough light sabers for the whole Jedi Temple!
Ike, yes, the online Pick-A-Brick is actually quite good. I should write an article about that. Glad that you had a good time at camp! 🙂
I live in Thailand, so what is the cheapest way to buy LEGO bricks for me? In Thailand the lego is very expensive.
Indeed it is. On the plus side, last I’ve been to Bangkok, which was like 2011, Collectable minifigures are tagged!
The most affordable place in Southeast Asia is Singapore. It has a few unofficial LEGO stores. However, this is still above American RRP. If you’re willing to go further, I sincerely recommend Hong Kong. There’s this place called In’s Place where the selection is amazing and the prices are generally noticeably under RRP.
Nice name. It’s from the Silmarillion and I’m a huge fan of Tolkien stuff.
You could buy it from abroad, but you’d still have to deal with shipping costs.
Hi!
I am in Singapore, and I can get Lego to Bangkok at a reasonable price.
Feel free to contact me at sleightedmind@gmail.com
So does this free shipping thing ships for free to Thailand too? I live in Thailand and I can’t leave the country.
It depends on the presence of the LEGO company in your country as well as shipping rates/policies in your part of the world. If there is a LEGO store in your area you could probably get free or favorable shipping terms. If there isn’t, LEGO can’t ship free from half-way around the world, however you will likely find local retailers carrying LEGO sets, as well as private sellers on BrickLink, the Online LEGO Marketplace. 🙂
I’m a huge fan of Tolkien stuff too. And Fikko3107, I suppose ill just wait till im in the Netherlands then(but that is still more expensive)
Netherlands, ooh…don’t get your hopes to high, but it’s still relatively better than what we’re experiencing here.
I recently took advantage of the free shipping over $75, but usually I don’t. In this case, the two sets I wanted were brand new, and unavailable on amazon.com (and I spent my $20 of VIP points I’d been saving up:)). I love the VIP program, but as has been mentioned above, Amazon.com often has cheaper prices for the larger sets. However, I usually buy smaller sets, so I buy form either my local LEGO store or shop.lego.com.
Just love this brand. 2nd biggest brand in toys world now a days in Asia.
Anywhere in the world?
Shipping policies depend on individual countries. 😉
Thank you so much admin 🙂
