Continuing with news from the San Diego Comic-Con; LEGO revealed a new LEGO The Hobbit set, the #79103 LEGO The Hobbit Lake Town Chase. Check it out below! 🙂
The LEGO The Hobbit Lake Town Chase set is quite small, with 334 pieces. However it does include 5 minifigures: Bilbo, Thorin, Bard, The Master of Lake Town and a guard. The set will be released in December and the price will be $49.99. Ace from FBTB.net has taken some really nice close-up pictures of the minifigures from the LEGO The Hobbit Lake Town Chase so we can take a good look. The details look fantastic!
Again; the LEGO The Hobbit Lake Town Chase will be available in December. At this point it is not know if any other new sets will be released at that time. In the meantime you can check out the currently available LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit sets at the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the new LEGO The Hobbit set? And what about the minifigures? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below. 😉

YAY!!!!!!!!!!
AS SOON as I saw this, I started spinning around in circles!!! I really like the master’s hat!!! 😛
Ditto
I was just about to say that! when I saw that minifig I thought “oh you funny man!” 😀
Bard! It’s even more awesome than I thought.
Ok, that deserves another shout out. BARD!
Oh, by the way, have everyone seen this?: http://ww.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=7128 . Look at those tiny ball joints! Bewdiful! Imagine how many awesome little robot MOCs I can make with those!
Yeah, I’m planning to write an article about those for tomorrow. Super interesting! 🙂
I’m very excited to see this! The minifigs in particular are fabulous. Can’t wait to see some of the other sets. I’m guessing there will be one with Smaug, but they seem to be keeping his appearance under pretty tight wraps so far…
Kenton, yes, the details on the minifigs are really nice! As far as other sets; there is some speculation that maybe there will not be any more sets this winter because sets like the previously released Barrel Escape is in fact for the second part of the movie. But we shall see… 🙄
Tight wraps with loose lips later on. (maybe). I am sure images of the other sets will be shown. Keep in mind the first wave of sets had two sets that was going to be in the second wave. Let wait and the hunt begin.
I am getting this!!
same here, buddy. 🙂
I like the hobbit sets! someday i’m going to get that hobbit house/house in the shire!
I love that it’s (well of course) a town by the water. that just is so awesome!!!!!!!! plus the boat adds to the goodness. that’s probably why it’s 50 bucks. otherwise it probably would be $30 because of the 300 some pieces. but i’m still totally getting it.
I really like the little boat. It’s simple, but it works.
Yeah, I like it too! 😀
me too! 🙂
Great set, if only LEGO had put in another small building and kept the same price…I think I will pass, but the whole look and feel of this, plus the minifigures, it seems really great excepting the price.
Hooray! Love the boat and the minifigs!
hey, you are pretty awesome! 😆
I really like this set. It’s price is a bit much and it would be nice if they had included some big plates under the buildings instead of those small ones. The two rowboats for the ship is a good idea and the minifigs are beautiful. I’m hoping for a set with Smaug and one with Azog but we’ll see how that goes.
totally, dude.
Hey, Admin, I have other news! There are rumors about 4 more sets coming out! Here are the names and the prices: Town Lake Chase $50, The Dougledore Ambush $20, Mirkwood-Elf Army $30, and finally the Dougledore battle $70!
Yeah, I have heard about those this past weekend. Should I write a post on it so we can discuss? 🙂
I personally think you should write a post so that we can discuss what the sets might be about and how they might look like.
Okay, let’s see… I have a post ready for tomorrow, and on Thursday it will be the Chima Episode, so we can do it for Friday, then we can discuss during the weekend. 😉
Sounds good! I am pretty excited for the new sets! The names sound great! Admin, I also have a question. What do you think is the best thing to get? The croc swamp hideout, the goblin king battle, the mines of moria, gorzan’s gorilla striker, or attack of the wargs? Please give me you’re opinion because I am torn between which set to get and I really need an opinion! My dad says I should get the Gorzan’s gorilla striker only because he finds machine’s fascinating and my mom said she would get the croc swamp hideout because it’s new and it has good mini-figures. She doesn’t want me to get the mines of moria or the goblin king battle because of how many bones and skeletons there are but I don’t find that creepy because I watched all the Lord of the Rings movies and I watched the Hobbit movie! Thanks!
Cragger, those are all great sets. I know what you mean by it being hard to choose at times. I usually write down on a piece of paper the sets I’m interested in, and then start to narrow them down by the features I like about each of them. A set may have a good selection of parts or colors that I want, or building techniques I would like to try out, or minifigs I would really like. Then going thru each set on my list I give them stars according to the criterias. The set that meets more than one criteria (for example it has a good selection of parts I want and it also has some cool minifigs) will win. 😉
Your choice also depends on the way you like to play; do you prefer single sets with a machine that can more around or fly, or do you like to build dioramas and landscape type of things? Also think about the long-term play-value of the set. The Mines of Moria is a nice set, but it only depicts one scene with not a whole lot of play-features. Unless you use the parts for MOC-ing, it would not be as interesting as for example the Goblin King Battle set that has a lot more interesting details. I also like your parent’s choice. The Gorilla Stiker is a very cool set with lots of playability, and the Croc Swamp is an awesome set with great potential for both playing and MOC-ing.
Anyway, I would suggest to go start with a list, then start to eliminate the ones you like the least and stay with the one that has mosts of the features you want. Let me know what you decide. 😛
Thanks for the tips Admin! I really appreciate it! Sorry I couldn’t get back to you yesterday, I was busy playing Wiffle Ball with my friends. I’ll let you know what I decide next week when I go to the LEGO store. 😀
Did anyone see the trailer for the new Hobbit movie The Desloation Of Smaug? IT IS WICKED!!! It is so awesome! I can’t wait to see it! I saw Azog in it and he’s pretty cool! 😀
Yeah, I can’t wait myself! 😀
That set looks amazing!! I am so buying the four sets coming out for the new movie! If I get them all, I will have all the sets from the first and second wave! 😀
