Watch LEGO Legends of Chima – Episode 4

Nope, not at all. Let me describe the game briefly, and if it generates enough attention, I’ll probably write an article about it…

Right, So when you start the game, You are allowed to choose your tribe. Unfortunately, at this point, you are only able to play as the “good” tribes of Chima, unlike most other MMOs. In conclusion, you can play as a Lion,an Eagle,a Gorilla or a Bear. (This kind of hints the Bear’s allegiance.)

Once you pick a tribe, you get to customize it, albeit not to the extent as most MMOs and LEGO Universe; you simply get to change some colours, such as a Red, Orange or Brown mane for the lions, a Dark Blue, Black or White color for the gorillas, etc.

When you start the game, Laval will guide you to most of the basic gameplay aspects, such as moving, combat, Chi-Up, etc. At which point he leaves you to manage your very own outpost, like your land, where you can build buildings that have a practical use such as generating studs, building weapons, etc. All in all it’s not unlike those freemium iPad/iPhone games and Facebook games (You know, when the game is free but you need to buy a premium currency to really enjoy the game?) that revolves in creating your own world. There’s even a “premium currency” in this game: Gold Bricks, despite at this point being not purchasable.

I believe the rest of the game basically involves you building up your outpost, going to the wild and fighting lots and lots of crocs, getting new equipments and gear and doing missions, given to you by various people such as Lothar, a lion captain, whose early missions teaches more gameplay aspects. All missions rewards you somehow, and some missions even takes you head to head against bosses…(although the first two bosses is a really puny Crawley!)

Well I guess that’s the gist of it; oh, I almost forgot, you don’t get to make your name. You are supposed to create a name from combining 3 words from a given list, not unlike the naming system of LEGO Universe and Hero Recon Team. Also, chatting with other players are constantly moderated by a living, breathing moderating team like the official LEGO message boards.
