Today I would like to show you one of the most interesting LEGO Star Wars sets that came out this summer; the #75015 LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. The Tank Droid wasn’t in the final cut of Star Wars Episode II, but it was originally supposed to be in the movie, which is interesting. So let’s take a closer look! 🙂
Here is the official description: Build the great Battle of Geonosis where the Separatist forces are advancing on the Jedi Knights and their clone army with the LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid! Help the Clone Troopers to repel the Droid’s crushing track-tire and 2 flick-missiles! Then fend off the Battle Droid and infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett.
- Includes 3 minifigures with weapons: Clone Trooper, Jango Fett and a Battle Droid
- Features large track-tire and 2 flick-missiles
- Weapons include 2 blaster-pistols, blaster and a blaster-rifle
- Fire the flick-missiles!
- Navigate any terrain and crush your enemy with the rugged track-tire!
- Recreate awesome battle scenes from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones!
- Recreate an even bigger Battle of Geonosis with the #75016 LEGO Star Wars Homing Spider Droid, #75019 LEGO Star Wars AT-TE and #75021 LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship!
- Measures over 4″ (11cm) high, 7″ (18cm) long and 3″ (9cm) wide
The LEGO Star Wars Tank Droid itself is made up of around 200 elements (excluding the treads), and is 26 studs long. It is a fairly easy build. The guns have flick-missiles, which are pretty standard on LEGO sets and always fun. On the front pontoon-like extensions there is room to place battle-droids – just like in the movie. The “eyes” can turn 360 degrees so they can look both forward and backward.
There are three minifigures included with the LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. Jango Fett is of course the coolest character, and his minifig version doesn’t disappoint. He comes with the new Mandalorian helmet, but in flat-silver, instead of dark-gray. His jet-pack is also flat-silver. And I also like the blaster holster printing on his legs. Probably one of my most favorite details. The Clone Trooper minifigure is the same as in the other 2013 LEGO Star Wars sets, but he is still pretty cool. I like the helmet details, especially the little holes on the sides to attach antennas, visors, etc. The Battle-Droid is the same as we always get, but since this one is from Geonosis, it is dark-orange instead of tan. It also comes with a plate that is attached to his back as a backpack sort of thing.
Overall this is a really nice LEGO Star Wars set, and I would rate it six out of five stars. Why? Because the it is well designed, and is also really sturdy. I dropped mine from 17 inches and not one part fell off. The minifigures are also great, and the value is just unbeatable! You get 271 pieces for $19.99. That’s only 7 cents/piece, well below the 10 cents/piece golden ratio, considered the standard by LEGO fans. The LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Battle Droid is available at the Online LEGO Shop, along with the other LEGO Star Wars summer sets. So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Star Wars Tank Droid? Do you own the set already? What are your thoughts? Feel free to share them in the comment section below! Also, I’m a KFOL (Kid-Fan-of-LEGO) and this is my second post here at theBrickBlogger. You can read the first one here: LEGO Star Wars X-wing Starfighter Review. You bet this is a great set! Great post, BTW! 🙂 I’m thinking of getting most of these new Star Wars sets for Christmas, but I’m not sure. LOTR is awesome too. Decisions, decisions, decisions. If only there were such things as money trees……
Yes, it is a great set and army builder you get, A clone trooper and a battle droid. And about the money tree…….. One can only wish 😉
your not the only one asking for a lot of star wars sets this Christmas! its taking up half my list! more than that actually! 😎
Thank You Admin!
I think you’re confusing Jango for Boba. You mentioned that he appeared in other “sets”- Jango is a very rare and sought after figure available in only one 2002 set, whereas Boba have received a few re-releases over the years, including a pure white special edition. Do your homework and research more carefully next time!
While you are correct, I’d go a bit easy on the author. This is a KFOL, and it could quite possibly be that they were not even around the first time Jango showed up. It’s also quite possible that it wasn’t a Boba/Jango confusion more than a Jango/Clone Wars Mandalorian confusion.
All right, I altered the text slightly to correct the confusion. 🙂
I was “around” but I couldn’t walk, and I didn’t get into LEGOs until 2009.
Fikko, Jango actually have a few releases. And they are all very special: one in the set you mentioned, one in the holiday calendar set, and one in the set mentioned here. In my opinion this current one is the best, and it is well worth getting this set just for the minifig! 🙂
jango has never been in white, but boba fetts was white (his prototype armour) just some info. boba fetts armour isn’t jango fetts armour, seeing as the connecters to the head have been chopped and the helmet got blew up when boba tried to kill mace windu
I am sry Fikko. I know this is his second realease I acedently typed that sry. 🙁
“Accidently”
Fikko, what section of the article was that in? :S
That is the only reason why I got this set.(JANGO FETT). The tank droid it self wasn’t very durable for my taste.( it kept falling apart when I was trying to put it together.)
it fell apart? but its supposed to be sturdy? what did you do throw it? 🙄 (I don’t mean to be mean legostuff, its just a joke)
Good post. And the value is great too, though the best I have ever got or seen was Medieval Market village at $89.99 from Amazon. Jango is cool my brother has Boba from the desert skiff so sooner or later maybe I could end up with both. Geonis battles and Hoth battles are probably the most used themes in Starwars besides space.
I drop my LEGO’s all the time! actually its been awhile so that’s great for me! speaking of LEGO, this is pretty cool! it wasn’t in the movie correct? that’s insanely cool! I didn’t know that! that’s cool 😎
I forgot to mention that there is a tank that looks a lot, I think maybe exactly, like that one in the Wookie battle in Revenge of the Sith.
that’s cos it is. this just an earlier version. the battle of kashyyyk (yes I can spell it and it spelt right) is set 3 years after FBOG(first battle of geonosis). so yea it is the same just an earlier verison. this is from 22bby the kashyyyk is from 19bby (bby stands for before something thing that’s why it is minus not plus) GO STAR WARS GEEKS (or in mando’a “slanar tar akaan kar’tayir ast) if u want a translate http://www.mandoa.org
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Good job spelling Kashyyyk, but it’s, “spelled,” not, “spelt.” I would respond in Gallifreyan language but it doesn’t use english letters. (Gallifrey is the home of the best media fiction character to ever live. If it’s anything less then obvious, I mean the Doctor from Doctor Who.)
The CAT is indeed one of the best sets of the summer wave! I’ve already bought 2, and want to get somewhere around 6XD The figures are amazing, the Price is amazing, even that battle droid is amazing;)
I hope they keep this going when they release the episode 7 set=)
so in 2 years aka. 29 aby its wont be
Yeah, I have this and the Homing Spider Droid. and this is my faveorite of the two.
Yes, it’s is sturdy( once its together)But, some of the parts were maybe a little tricky to keep together. It’s good to have challenges that is what makes us grow. ( As for the top set so far is the Ewok village.)
I like that machine gun (or pipe gun or whatchamacallit)… Gotta steal that construction.
I also really liked that design and tryed it right after seeing the pictures of this set the first time. It is a really nice combo. 🙂
I’m not really into LEGO Star Wars collecting, but i might getting this set.
Admin, when will you put up the Asian LUGs? I promised some pf my friends it would be posted here soon. 😛
HP, I already did. It was posted this morning. 😉
i like rebublican gunship
That is a really cool set I’m getting it for Christmas 😀
