A very interesting development of the LEGO Minecraft product-line is LEGO’s recent announcement that they are planning to release standard minifigure-scale LEGO Minecraft sets. ๐
I find this news particularly noteworthy because the original idea for LEGO Minecraft that came out of LEGO CUUSOO was actually for minifigure-scale sets. Although LEGO gave green-light to production, they changed the sets to micro-scale. Initially LEGO and Minecraft fans expressed some disappointment, but nonetheless the LEGO Minecraft sets have been hugely popular. I myself have all three sets and I like them quite a bit – if for nothing else, the excellent selection and unique colors of small LEGO elements.
I guess after realizing that LEGO Minecraft is indeed a winner, LEGO decided to upscale the sets to minifigure size. Right now the LEGO design team is still in the middle of development, and here comes the second interesting piece of news; LEGO is reaching out to the LEGO and Minecraft community for input. They call this the LEGO Minecraft Co-Build Project. Take a look at the video-announcement below:
So if you are interested to share your thoughts with the LEGO Minecraft design team, head over to the LEGO Minecraft Facebook Page. Right now they are taking suggestions for developing the Creeper. They share some early explorations of the character, and they would like to know which one of their Creeper interpretation you like the best. ๐
If you would like to learn more about the currently available LEGO Minecraft sets, check out the links at the end of this article. And you can also visit the Online LEGO Shop to purchase them.
So what do you think? How do you like the idea of making LEGO minifigure-scale Minecraft sets? Which one of the Creeper concepts you like the most? And how do you like the currently available LEGO Minecraft Micro World sets? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below. ๐

THE BEST IDEA EVAH FOR A MINECRAFT AND LEGO FAN!!! o have minecraft on PC and might get it on PE soon. I LOOOOVE THIS ARCITCLE IM NOT TELLING MY FRIEND HAHAHAHA
Actually, Minecraft is going to be released on PS3 and PS4 very shortly.
I love Minecraft and by the way the first one looks good.
That’s pleasant surprise. I happier about them asking for direct input, than the figs themselves. It shows that LEGO is a customer focused company. I like the second on on top and first one on the bottom.
I like that second one on there with the LEGO minifigure legs for the creeper, that one in my opinion looked the best!
Heard this the other day and wondered if you were gonna cover it.
I have xbox and pe versions ๐
Can’t wait to see what they will look like!
how many of you have minecraft. and if you do did you download it or buy it. if you downloaded it tell me were.
Hi Jay,
I have Minecraft, and am addicted to it. Heard about these sets on the Minecraft Reddit. Anyway, Minecraft can be purchased on minecraft.net for ยฃ17.95, $26.95 or 19.99 Euros.
Have fun!
Even though I don’t play minecraft, this certainly looks cool! I’m looking forward to seeing what these sets will look like! It’s great that TLG is looking to get input from minecraft fans. I still hope to get the dark red minecraft set.
David, The Nether Minecraft set is really sweet. All those dark red and orange parts make it very unique. ๐
i like the bottom left and the top left ones
I prefer the bottom left one the best.
Agreed ๐
MAN THAT LOOKS COOL BUT A DONE HAVE A FACEBOOK!
I rather like the first one if they would change the grey to green. I haven’t commented in a while, Dark ages Im afraid
Nice to have ya! Having a season of Dark Ages is quite normal. Just pop in once in a while and maybe something will perk your interest again. ๐
Seeing Steve made out of minifigure pieces doesn’t look right. It would be cool if they made special “square” minifigures just for the minicraft line.
I actually thought of the same thing; I would like the Minecraft figs to have their own special mould. ๐
These are my opinions on the creepers shown…
Pic 1: meh. Could use some more green.
Pic 2: likely to be the most pose able of the choices, but also the chunkiest
Pic 3: the sloped, small legs make it look too stubby.
Pic 4: would be my favorite if they added more light green.
Pic 5: colors are too clumped together, they seem more like stripes.
Pic 6: the most detailed, my favorite, but could use a better face.
Hope you liked my opinions!
