Just a quick reminded that the special offers from LEGO for October will expire tomorrow. October is the best time to take care of your holiday LEGO shopping (as well as larger orders for yourself) due to the Double VIP Points period, which only happens a couple of times a year. Also, you get the first of the two LEGO Holiday sets free with your order. 🙂
As I mentioned above, the biggest promotion for the October has been the Double VIP Points on all of your purchases during the entire month. This basically means that you earn $5 worth of VIP Points for every $50 you spend. Savvy LEGO shoppers use this period to take care of their big LEGO purchases to rake up VIP points for future shopping. This is a good time to get the LEGO Modular Buildings, large LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Technic, and other more expensive and exclusive sets. If you want to take advantage of this offer before it expires, you have today and tomorrow only. Traditionally there is another special offer for VIP members on Thanksgiving weekend, however by that time some of the most popular and desirable sets are usually hard to find or already sold out.
The other notable promotion this month has been the #40106 Free Exclusive Holiday Set with purchases of $99 or more (pictured above). It contains a couple of cute little elves in their workshop getting presents ready for the holidays. It is an excellent extension to the #10245 LEGO Creator Santa’s Workshop, which is the current addition to the annual LEGO Winter Village series.
While the first holiday set was available for an entire month, the second holiday set will only be offered on Thanksgiving weekend at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop – free with purchases of $99 or more. This second set is the #40107 Exclusive Holiday Set with a skating scene (pictured above). So if you would like to get both holiday sets, you might want to get something now and keep at least one of your purchases for next month. We will talk more about what’s new in November in a couple of days, but I can tell you right now that for larger purchases October is the best.
Also, as I have mentioned before, if you are looking to get holiday related sets like the LEGO Advent Calendars or LEGO Winter Village sets, I would suggest you get them now, as they tend to sell out by the time most people think about getting them. Plus you will earn Double VIP Points on those too, and you also get free shipping if your order is $75 or more. 😀
I have gotten two of the LEGO Modular Buildings this month and I’m super happy with both. What about you? Did you get anything during the Double VIP Points promotion? Or are you planning to by the end of the month? Feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉

I’m really glad I got to take advantage of the double points this month when I went down to the Lego store earlier this month. I didn’t buy a lot but it was enough added to my point total to net me another $5. I now have $20 which I plan on using toward The Parisian Restaurant. Do the points ever expire?
Kim, glad you got some points! VIP Points do expire on December 31st two years after the year in which they were earned. (So the points you earned this October, will expire in December 31st, 2016.) Before this happens though, LEGO will notify you via the email address you provided during registration. Also, members that join the VIP Program via a LEGO Store or phone order, and subsequently do not register their card number online within one year of joining, will have their points expire and their point balance reset to zero.
I’m glad I went to LEGOLAND and downtown Disney. At downtown i got all my sets for VIP(including an engrave brick), and at LEGOLAND just exclusive stuff.
Nice! I have been wanting to get one of those engraved bricks! 😛
They are really cool you can choose a color from a palate(which is LEGO bricks) And then the engrave color, then an emblem(ex; lego brick, mba logo, etc.).
It’s a shame I missed out on double VIP points. I could really use some of those. 🙁 But, I hope to spend more than $100 whilst at the Downtown Disney LEGO store, so I can get the second Christmas set, which I happen to want. 🙂
Also, during my hours of researching, when I was supposed to be writing an essay, I’ve discovered about 15 new pieces for 2015 sets, not including minifig parts. Seems like 2014 was a push for new parts, and there aren’t usually many new ones in other years. 😕
It is possible that there is going to be Double VIP Points during Brick Friday. It is not garanteed, but sometimes LEGO does that. One time there was even tripple VIP Points on some sets! Looking forward to your article on new parts. 😉
2x vIP points on brick Friday? I hope so! About my article, I may have to make it two parts, unless there’s no limit on length. 😕
Hm… I like to cut articles at about 1,000 words. It could be a little longer, but not much. As you know, most of us have short attention spans, and if you would like people to actually read it it is best to limit articles at rigth about 1,000 words. As far as Double VIP Points, it is something that LEGO has traditionally done on Brick Friday, but sometimes it is limited to just certain sets. I will update you guys when I know for sure either way.
Ok, my article is really a lot of short paragraphs with a picture after each. So far, it’s about 583 words, which doesn’t include the picture notations and smileys. But I’m only about half way done. 😕 I think I’ll just right the whole thing up, see how long it is, and divide it from there. Sound good?
Yep! Sounds good to me! 😛
