LEGO Ninjago fans can rejoice as images of many of the 2016 LEGO Ninjago sets are now available. As we have discussed previously (see links at the end of this post), next year pirates are going to be back, and as you can see from the pictures, the sets have an interesting pirate-ish, steampunk-ish, vibe. Kind of like what we have seen with MetalBeard from The LEGO Movie. Below is are the pictures and description of the 2016 LEGO Ninjago sets. 🙂

I very much like the color-scheme of these sets. The #70603 LEGO Ninjago Raid Zeppelin and the #70605 LEGO Ninjago Misfortune’s Keep are particularly interesting, and could be used even outside of the LEGO Ninjago universe for some steampunk-type explorations. Also, nice to have three new dragons! There are many other LEGO Ninjago sets scheduled for next year, and while we don’t have pictures yet, you can find their names and set-numbers under the 2016 LEGO Ninjago section of the Brickset database. And you can find the currently available sets under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the 2016 LEGO Ninjago sets so far? Do you have a favorite? And how do you like the return of the pirates? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

I really like the bike chase, Jay’s dragon, and Misfortune’s Keep. It seems that everyone loves the bike chase, and I can see it become a very popular set.
Yes, those are two great looking bikes in an inexpensive set. The parts selection is excellent too. And I really like that grenade. I actually made myself a bunch of them already because it is such a great design with three simple parts. 🙂
I need the Zeppelin raid for three reasons: One, AWESOMENESS; Two, AWESOMENESS; and Three, STEAMPUNK.
Exactly. Steampunk. I think this is the first official theme with clear steampunk influences, even though AFOL:s have made steampunk MOC:s for quite some time now…
One of the LEGO Master Builder sets was actually dedicated to steampunk, and Metalbeard is also steampunk-ish – a steampunk pirate! 😀
MB, yeah… Although I don’t think it ever appeared outside the US…
That’s true. It is a fantastic series of sets, and I have all five of them. It’s a shame it didn’t make it outside the USA, as it is a fantastic way to learn interesting building techniques.
Wait… three dragons? Aren’t there only two in this wave?
Anyways, I really like this wave, lots of cool parts and building techniques. I especially like Jay’s dragon and the Raid Zeppelin, but it’s a shame that Cole’s Dragon is so small. And at first I liked the Bike Chase, but now I don’t quite like the design of Nya’s bike. I may still get it for Kai, if I can’t get Misfortune’s Keep. I note Jay has an eyepatch in that set… perhaps he loses an eye in this season? 😕 I also like how Cole’s head is Sand Green in Tiger Widow Island. This will definitely be an interesting season. 🙂
Also: http://brickset.com/article/18250/german-catalogue-reveals-elves-speed-champions-and-more Finally, pictures! Lots of good sets. 😀
I was counting the small dragon in #30422. 😀
I was just looking through the 2016 Catalog pictures myself. Really interesting sets! It seems like Super Heroes is going to have a particularly strong wave. And I like the elves sets too. 🙂
Ah, yes, I guess 30422 counts (although it makes Cole’s Dragon look large). And we’re possibly getting Lloyd’s dragon this summer. 🙂
I also like the Super Heroes, particularly the giant Ant-man (and the little one, too). I like the Elves dragons, although I don’t quite like the printings on their heads. 😕
Also, I was reading this: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/22003/new-parts-discussion I think that BURP is new, and it may also be on 60130.
That giant Ant-Man is totally insane. I’m surprised I haven’t heard people talking about it extensively. As far as I know it is the first large brick-built minifig ever in a LEGO set. I think it is fantastic! As far as the BURP piece, isn’t that’s just a regular BURP built up with extra pieces? BTW, I really like that set. So many good parts!
I love Misfortune’s Keep! I want Lloyd (Obviously) and that Jay with sunglasses (or is it an eye-patch). The drone/jetpack Lloyd has is REALLY big, and I don’t really understand the size. The Djinn blades. Also, Monkeys are back!!!
Im pretty sure jay has an eye patch
Has anyone else noticed the new sword holders!
Yes, yes and YES! Can’t wait for it! 😀
Looks like a pretty cool wave. I’m interested in seeing what the plot line will be. The smallest two sets (Cole’s Dragon and the bike chase) are both pretty cool and have some nice figures. Nya’s bike does look a little insane though!
omg!! Im so exited does anyone knows when the new episodes are coming? And were may i see them? I dont have the channel anymore
There hasn’t been any announcement on it yet, but hopefully soon! 😀
Hey guys! aren’t the new sets AWESOME? I can’t wait or the new season! 🙂
I love all of these sets but I don’t have that much mont so yeah i definitely want that bike chase because then i will have all the ninja (for the third time ) and i can’t wage to get more ninja ( I have 34 ninjago minifigures total ) 😉
Nice to see there’s going to be another season. The last one with Morrow was great! Also, does anyone remember me from like, 5 years ago?
Hey, Golden Ninja! Long time no see! I will be posting the first two episodes of the season this weekend. Nice to have you around! 🙂
Awesome! Thanks!
Hey… didn’t you have a fanfiction up at one point?? I can’t remember if it was here or on another site… but I thought you did…
Yeah. I did. I saved this on my bookmarks for the memories 😀
Ah, I remember reading it! Dude, it’s so great to actually talk to you- I didn’t have an account on here back then, lol, so I couldn’t tell you, but I loved your story! It was really good!
Oh dude… these look epic! I’m seriously hoping Jay’s Elemental Dragon isn’t too expensive… it’s such an epic set, and with my favorite character to boot! Fingers crossed…
As if I needed another reason to fangirl…
