LEGO Nexo Knights is LEGO’s own new theme for 2016, combining LEGO Castle, LEGO Space (particularly the trans-orange and blue LEGO Space Ice Planet series from the 1990s), and a good dose of imagination and magic. Some people instantly fell in love with the sets as soon as they saw the first pictures, others were not so sure about the crazy mash-up, and would have liked a more conservative LEGO Castle and LEGO Space theme. However once the sets became available and people had a chance to play with them, it became clear that there is a lot to like about LEGO Nexo Knights. 🙂
Today I will share with you a number of video-reviews by JANGBRiCKS where you can see the play-futures and various transforming functions of the sets – things that are hard to explain just with words and pictures. LEGO designers really went all out to channel their childlike selves to create such awesome wackiness. And I have heard that the second wave of LEGO Nexo Knights scheduled for August will include even more outlandish models. In the video-reviews you also have a chance to see the LEGO Nexo Knight armor pieces, shields and weapons – all important elements of the theme, and very interesting to minifig customizers.
As we discussed previously, the signature set of the theme is the #70317 LEGO New Knights The Fortrex – a high-tech fortress rolling on tank-threads! And the set can be combined with the #70324 LEGO Nexo Knights Merlok’s Library 2.0 for an even bigger castle, as you can see in the video-review above. Below are the details on both sets.
➡ LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS THE FORTREX: Roll into action with the Nexo Knights 2-in-1 battle castle! When Knighton is under attack by Jestro, LEGO Nexo Knights knights roll into action! Send out The Fortrex, the huge 2-in-1 rolling castle! Launch the Knight Cycle and Aero-Striker V1 to engage the Ash Attacker and Scurriers! Fold out the walls to reveal the hi-tech HQ and get your brief from Merlok 2.0, and plan your next daring mission at the round table to stop Jestro taking the Book of Evil! Includes 5 scannable shields for Nexo Powers: Ground Pound, Super Human Speed, Hawk Holler, ChickenPower and Charging Attack. Includes 7 minifigures: Clay Moorington, Aaron Fox, Axl, Chef Eclair, Ash Attacker and 2 Scurriers.. 1140 pieces. Price: $99.99 – BUY HERE
➡ LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS MERLOK’S LIBRARY 2.0: Shoot down The Flame Bat and guard the Book of Revenge Watch out for the pesky Crust Smasher swooping in and stealing the spell book! Whizz-kid Ava Prentiss and heroic knight Lance Richmond are defending Merlok’s Library 2.0. Can they fend off the Crust Smasher and stop the Book of Revenge falling into Jestro’s hands? Includes 2 scannable shields for Nexo Powers Toxic Sting and Ice Dragon. Includes 3 minifigures: Lance Richmond, Ava Prentiss and Crust Smasher. 288 pieces. Price: $24.99 – BUY HERE
Two other excellent sets are the #70315 LEGO Nexo Knights Clay’s Rumble Blade with a vehicle shaped like a dagger that can be split into four smaller vehicles and the #70327 LEGO Nexo Knights The King’s Mech. Descriptions below.
➡ LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS CLAY’S RUMBLE BLADE: Patrol the kingdom of Knighton with Clay’s 4-in-1 Rumble Blade! Let’s get ready to rumble! Deploy the trusty Claybots on their Sword Break Bikes to seek out the evil Ash Attacker and mischievous Scurrier. Jestro and his army of Lava monsters are making a final push against the King’s Castle—but they weren’t expecting this! Tech whizz-kid Robin Underwood has built a mighty robotic suit of armor for King Halbert to defend the people of Knighton. Swing the giant sword or launch the flying shield with trusty King’s bot at the controls. Includes 2 scannable shields for Nexo Powers Storm Dragon and Backfire. Includes 3 minifigures: King Halbert, King’s bot and Flamethrower. 375 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE
There are many great sets on the side of the badguys as well, the largest being the #70316 LEGO Nexo Knights Jestro’s Evil Mobile; an awesomely evil red//black/brown vehicle with fire coming out everywhere. Another interesting looking set is the #70314 LEGO Nexo Knights Beast Master’s Chaos Chariot, which looks like a mash-up between an ancient chariot for a warrior and a Star Wars podracer. 🙄
➡ LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS JESTRO’S EVIL MOBILE: Snatch the Book of Monsters from Jestro and Sparkks! Lance Richmond has an epic battle on his hands! Zoom in on the Hover Horse and defeat the giant Sparkks! Look for Jestro, who’s hiding in his Evil Mobile, but don’t fall into a trap and end up in the prison! Steal the Book of Monsters from under Jestro’s nose and stop him from building up his terrible army! Includes 3 scannable shields for NexoPowers: Cloning, Mightiness and Sea Dragon. ➡ LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS BEAST MASTER’S CHAOS CHARIOT: Battle the Beast Master for the Book of Deception! Back off Beast Master! Jestro has sent out an evil army to capture spell books of dark magic scattered across the kingdom of Knighton. Macy must zoom ahead to the Book of Deception on the Hover Horse before it falls into the Beast Master’s hands! Watch out for the hungry giant Globlins and avoid falling into their jaws. Includes 2 scannable shields for Nexo Powers: Clapper Claw and Magnitize. Includes 2 minifigures: Beast Master and Macy Halbert. 314 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE
There are also some smaller sets called LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate Knights, including one minifigure, and several shields that can be used as powers in the game. Great for interesting accessories!
LEGO Nexo Knights may not appeal to adults because of the unusual combination of LEGO Castle and LEGO Space, but I believe that kids and more adventurous grownups will appreciate them for the unabashed creativity, fun features, bold colors, and interesting new elements. It may not be a theme were you want to collect all the sets, but I recommend picking up one or two just to see how you like them. You may be pleasantly surprised. They are available at the Online LEGO Shop.
What do you think? How do you like LEGO Nexo Knights? Did you get any of the sets yet? Or are you planning to? Which one seems to be the most interesting to you? And what about the minifigs and monsters? How do you like them? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Better than expected. The play features are really good.
I love it. I am tring to save up for the FORTREX But, temption might make me buy the smaller sets first. (I already have three of the smaller sets ).
It is already sold out on S@H
Don’t like the sets, but I like the armor pieces. Will be great to play around with those armor pieces and other custom pieces exclusive to Nexo Knights.
I like the armor pieces too and looking forward to getting some. Especially the silver pieces that are more traditional castle colors. 🙂
I have Ult. Clay, Aaron, Robin, and Lavaria, as way as the Rumble Blade, Library 2.0, Beast Master’s Chariot, and Infernox Captures the Queen. In the app there is a “Macy’s Thunder Mace” vehicle that will probably be a set, and to “Scourges” (i.e. Beast Master & Lavaria) called Flama and Whiperella. I expect to see them in August, especially since the latter has been seen in commercials for the show. Also, BIONILCE NETFLIX SERIES!!!!!!
For the price do you like the thunder blade or infernox captures the queen? i cant decide.
I think Infernox is a better because you get the Queen, and it is really well done. also the price point does make it better.

Sweet! I’m really curious to hear how you like the Fire set! Enjoy your loot! 😀
I really want these books that come with several of the sets…they would go so well with other fantasy themes (Orthanc library!). I imagine they will be pretty expensive to buy individually, wish there was some other way to get them.
I think prices will come down on the books as they are accessories is almost every set. Just wait a bit. 😉
Thanks, wish I had your optimism, haha. 😀
i like all of these sets but i think i will only have enough money for star wars 7 sets and ninjago (i also want more funko pops the little guys with big heads 😀 right now i have a batman any way this is really of the topic sorry 🙂 ) but i do like the armor B)
