Attention LEGO fans! Forget about shopping for school-supplies! LEGO is running an super-secret unannounced Double VIP Points special this weekend. As we have discussed previously (see: August 2016 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions), there is a huge number of new LEGO sets available this month, and the free exclusive #40220 LEGO Creator Mini London Bus special with purchased of $75 or more is still available! 🙂
The Double VIP Points offer is valid from August 6th to the 8th at midnight EST. You can get Double VIP Points at official LEGO stores, as well as the Online LEGO Shop. You will see the Double VIP Points in your shopping-cart when you are ready to check out.
If you would like to see a list of what’s new, check the above mentioned link where we discuss all the new LEGO sets. In summary, a very large number of LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Nexo Knights, LEGO Super Heroes, LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO Friends, LEGO Disney Princess, and LEGO Elves sets were released this month. You can find them under their respective categories, or see all at the What’s New section of the Online LEGO Shop.
And if you do need to shop for school-supplies, LEGO recently released a whole selection of stationary items that we have reviewed previously (see: LEGO Stationary: Ruler, Pens, Markers & More!). It includes pens, pencils, markers, rulers, organizers, notebooks, and more – all with a LEGO theme. Great for kids and kids-at-heart. You can find them under the LEGO Classic section of the Online LEGO Shop.
In summary, if you haven’t gotten any of the new LEGO sets yet, this weekend is a perfect opportunity to get them, while also accumulating points twice as fast! As a VIP member, you would normally earn one point for every dollar you spend, but during the Double VIP Points period your earnings are twice as much. Double VIP Points are only offered a few times a year, so I would suggest that you take a look at the selection of new sets and see if there is anything you like. Oh, and report back to let us know what you got! 😉

Sweet! Perfect timing!
Thanks for letting us know! This is great! I haven’t had time to shop at the beginning of the month, and this time procrastination pays off!
LOL! Yeah, I did the same! 😀
I tried procrastinating many times, and it seldom worked for me…
My best results has probably been waiting for so long that the task at hand had been played out by itself already… =/
Well, that might not be a bad thing. 🙄
What a shame this isn’t on for the UK 🙁 That bus looks great as well!
Hopefully you guys will get the same deal soon. Usually that’s how it happens. Also, I’m certain that the UK will get the London Bus. I think I read somewhere that it will be in September. So hang in there. 🙂
Thanks for sharing 🙂 I’ll hold out for that bus, it’s lovely! 🙂
I just placed an order Monday to get the bus. The order is already here. I almost got the Spider-Man Web Warriors set, but put it off till Double Points. I was expecting to wait till October.
I did get the Doctor Strange set, Rey figure, and a LEGO JR Batman set for my son. But now I want to get that big set.
If you place another order now, you will get a second London Bus. Or if you wait until Christmas shopping, you might be able to get some kind of other promotional item. The London Bus should be good for reselling to recoup some of your expenses. 🙂
London Bus is only for US market, unfortunately 🙁 For EU market, the gift is less attractive.
Apparently, this is the main August offer outside North America…
It does seem kinda lame for adult builders…

I actually like that ramp. Looks fun. 😀
It might be fun for kids, though… Possibly a good bet on maintaining it in good condition for future collectors…
Although maybe many will have the same ideas, and demand would remain low…
I’m certain that the UK will get the London Bus too. Just a bit later. 🙂
We’ll wait *ages* for it. Then two will be released at once.
Yeah, that can happen too! 😀
