There is a new contest at LEGO’s ReBrick website for teen and adult LEGO fans that I wanted to make sure you know about. It is a really fun LEGO micro-building contest with some great prizes. Details below. 🙂
➡ LEGO MICRO-BUILDING CONTEST – DESCRIPTION: With LEGO Classic, everything is possible, and LEGO Classic bricks can become anything you can imagine! LEGO invites you to create original micro models based on five categories that turn the LEGO Classic bricks into amazing micro-build objects. The categories are “Animals & Adventure Creatures”, Household & Everyday Items”, “Architecture & Buildings”, “Space & Sci-Fi”, and “Vehicles”. Your micro-build can be as large as a 8×8 stud base, and you have complete creative freedom within the five categories.
➡ LEGO MICRO-BUILDING CONTEST – HOW TO ENTER: Choose a category from the five listed above, and create your micro-build. Take up to five photos of your creation and submit them to the entry page on ReBrick. Make sure to show off all angles of your creation. An exploded view showing the individual bricks of your build is welcomed but not a requirement.
➡ LEGO MICRO-BUILDING CONTEST – RULES: Entrants must be at least 13 years of age at the time of entry. Your entry’s base must be 8×8 studs, although elements of your model can extend the base. Only use LEGO system bricks – do not use LEGO Technic, LEGO Mindstorms, or LEGO Constraction parts. Your entry must not contain copies of any existing third party work or creation, or infringements of any third party intellectual property right. This includes the use of other brands, or even LEGO IP brands, including LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Lord of the Rings, etc. Elements from these properties can be used, but avoid using elements which clearly come from or only appear in a non-LEGO Classic sets. When the LEGO Record Your Creativity Contest was announced back in August (you can still enter it!), I said that was my favorite contest on ReBrick up to that time. But I have to say that this one is my favorite too! While micro-building with LEGO doesn’t require a lot of pieces, it does force you to think creatively about the parts you got. There are already some really fantastic submissions at the contest entry page that you can check out. If you don’t have a large collection of LEGO pieces, but love to play around with basic LEGO elements, this is a great contest to test your creative muscles.
What do you think? How do you like this LEGO contest? Are you thinking about entering? Feel free to share in the comment section below! Also, remember that the LEGO Record Your Creativity and the LEGO Friends contests are still running. 😉
