The new baby minifigure that was first released last year has been a big hit with LEGO fans. So far there has been two versions of the baby; one with a plain white body, and the other with a light-blue body with a printed elephant bib. The white version comes with the #60134 LEGO Fun in the Park – City People Pack and the #10255 LEGO Creator Assembly Square, and the light-blue version with the printed bib comes with the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 16 Babysitter. 🙂
We have already discussed the baby in detail, and how it is compatible with other minifigures and parts (see: Having Fun with the New LEGO Baby), but there is more! This little bitsy minifig is opening up a whole new scale of LEGO building. Babies need a lot of stuff; furniture, carriers, toys… and now there is someone to build them for!
Both the #60134 LEGO Fun in the Park – City People Pack and the #10255 LEGO Creator Assembly Square include a baby carriage that you can use as samples for your own building. And if you want to give your baby more, LEGO fan Sven Franic built an entire baby room with everything a baby would need. Let’s check it out.
This 16×16 stud baby room includes a baby crib, a play table with chair, a baby changing station with drawers, and some other very creative furniture pieces. Also notice the brick-built picture on the wall. And check out all those toys, including a little wind-up robot, a rocking horse, and various crib toys for baby to play with.
Pretty sweet, isn’t it? Sven also shares virtual renders of some of the assemblies, in case you want to copy them for your own baby room. (You can find larger version of the images at Sven’s flickr gallery.)
If you haven’t gotten any of the LEGO babies yet, I recommend picking up the #60134 LEGO Fun in the Park – City People Pack as it has some really nice minifigures even besides the baby. If you have a store near you that still carries Series 16 of the Collectible Minifigures, that is another great option. See the Online LEGO Shop.
What do you think? Do you have the LEGO baby minifig yet? Have you built anything for them? And how do you like this LEGO baby room? Feel free to share your thoughts and own favorite LEGO baby creations in the comment section below! 😉

Very cool! Haven’t built anything specific for the baby yet, but we did load up one of the grandmas in town with 3 or 4 babies (including the one in the papoose). She’s freaking out!
The babies are fun, though.
LOL! Poor grandma! 😀
Hah that idea is hilarious, well done!
Interesting…
You know, there was a baby minifig released already in 1978…

Those babies are a little biggish… 🙄
Still smaller than the rest of the family… 😉
The whole concept of minifigs being babies is turning my whole world upside down. I’m so confused right now. 🙄
It feels a bit surreal, doesn’t it?
Although it might explain some peculiarities of the Lego world…
I don’t think I want to go down that rabbit hole. 🙄
