LEGO Dimensions was released just about two years ago, and has gotten a lot of interest both from gamers and minifigure collectors. The whole idea of mashing together so many different IPs into one story was pretty exciting and fit the spirit of LEGO. In addition, collectors have been super excited about all the never-before-seen characters from movies, games, and cartoons made into LEGO minifigs. 🙂
Unfortunately, however, there have also been problems in the LEGO Dimensions universe. The whole toys-to-life concept has been dying even before LEGO got into it, the LEGO Dimensions game had some serious technical issues along the way, and the packs were quite expensive at their original price (especially if someone wanted to collect them all). Rumors have been circulating that LEGO Dimensions is going to get canceled ahead of its scheduled minimum three years lifespan.
LEGO Dimensions still has its fans however, and I’m sure there will be people who are going to be disappointed if the game ends up getting canceled early. But the end is not near just yet. LEGO recently released Wave 9 of the LEGO Dimensions packs, including some very interesting characters. Below are details about the two new LEGO Dimensions Team Packs and three LEGO Dimensions Fun Packs.

LEGO dimensions has never been all that interesting to me. Even though the game lets you build thing , it takes away the creativity in our own imagination. It’s almost like it’s being spoon Fed the creativity and the imagination for us. LEGO always been about using your imagination. All LEGO dimension s is an Advanced video game.
That’s very interesting feedback, especially since the original idea was to make LEGO Dimensions pretty much unlimited by mixing up so many different worlds. I guess they were not successful at achieving that, if you felt limited.
It would be really cool if you can make your self into a mini fig and can put yourself in the game. Make up your own story’s . Or go on an adventure on your own. Example, you start off with three doors in front of you and you choose from city , castle or space . Your min fig can either build a home or build a vehicle or build an army. Maybe learn from memory so you don’t get lost if you Wind up in a forest. Or how many treasure chests you need to build a house or A castle. Just an idea sounds cool doesn’t it.
Sounds like you are describing “Lego Worlds” not “Lego Dimensions”
Hm… I would want to try that! 😀
My partner and I have been buying some of the Lego Dimensions sets for parts when they go on clearance. The “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” Story Pack (71253) is a beautiful build aside from the video game.
I also thought that set was very beautiful. 🙂
Great way to get mini figurines especially when you can not get them in Lego sets. raven example. or you missed out Example Beast Boy in the Joker Lego set. Here is your chance to get beast boy. Even if they end the game, at least you have all those Lego sets and mini Figurines, hopefully the support does not end, however at least you have the Physical Minifigurines and Lego pieces to expand your building creativity. either way the Lego sets and characters still have a use beyond the game. So all is not lost 😉
Yes, that’s very true. Dimensions brought us some minifigs we would have never gotten otherwise.
