There is some miscellaneous news from the LEGO Ideas platform that is pretty exciting and worth talking about. First of all, the winners of the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space contest have been announced. There were over 1,000 entries, and the judges were blown away by the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants. The grand prize was given to this adorable (see below) coin-operated rocket ride by LEGO fan mjsmiley. The model will be adapted into an official free-with-purchase LEGO set planned for 2019. There were also a number of excellent runner-up winning entries, which you can check out here. This was only the second contest run on the LEGO Ideas platform, and both got tremendous response. As this feature of LEGO Ideas is still in beta, the LEGO Ideas team will take some time to evaluate what worked, what didn’t and what they can improve before running another contest. Stay tuned for further announcements. 🙂
The #21314 LEGO Ideas Tron Legacy set is going to be available soon! And to get LEGO fans excited, LEGO released a little teaser-video (see below). Originally submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform by BrickBros UK, the set will be available on March 31st. I have been in love with this project even before it was submitted to LEGO Ideas, so I’m super excited to finally be able to see it as an official LEGO set! I’m particularly happy that we are getting both bikes! Yes! There is also going to be a special signing event for this set at the LEGO Store Leicester Square in London on the 29th March from 4-7 PM. You will be able to meet the fan designers, and get a hold of a signed set in advance of the official release.
There are a number of LEGO Ideas projects that are very close to 10,000 votes. Some notable ones are the Modular Arcade by Astronaut Avila, the BMW R60/2 Vintage Motorcycle by maximecheng03, the Acclamator Class Assault Ship by Lucero, the Amelia Earhart project by Alatariel, the Flintstones project by AndrewClark2, and more. If you like any of them, please vote, and also share with your friends and family. Getting enough votes will give these projects the chance to be evaluated by the LEGO Ideas team, and maybe even become official LEGO sets.
You can sort LEGO Ideas projects by relevance, most recent, most supported, most comments, recently updated, most followed, and ending soon. This is a good way to quickly see which projects need just a few more votes, which have the most buzz, which were just uploaded and need a boost to start gathering votes, etc. Vote for the projects you want to see become official LEGO sets, and you can even leave comments if you think the project just needs a little tweak to make it better. Get involved!
As far as currently available LEGO Ideas sets, there is a really good selection right now, including the #21309 LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (finally back in stock!), the #21310 LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store, the #21312 LEGO Ideas Women of NASA, and the #21313 LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle. You can find them at the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Love that little rocket ship! Very cute! Do we know when it will be available?
No, not yet, just that it will be a freebie next year.
I’m still pushing for a space pirate theme . I mean if Lego can do NEXO KNIGHTS . Why not space pirates ?
Are you guys going to do a Tron review? Any ideas when? Really want to see it in more detail.
Yes, tomorrow. 😉
I want the tron bikes so bad!!! Yes please do a review!
I didn’t want to wait for the little coin operated machine so I built myself a little pirate ship one.
But can’t wait to have the rocket ship as well to go with it!
