Now that we are fully in the holiday shopping season, there are lots of LEGO sales to find and promotions to take advantage of. LEGO has been running an excellent clearance sale since Black Friday with sets as much as 30% off. This includes some large sets that are getting retired, like the #75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters, the #70922 LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor, the #21137 LEGO Minecraft The Mountain Cave, the #10214 LEGO Creator Tower Bridge, the #10253 LEGO Creator Big Ben, the #75060 LEGO Star Wars Slave I, the #10247 LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel, the #71042 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary, the #10251 LEGO Creator Brick Bank, the #10246 LEGO Creator Detective’s Office, and much more. While some of the sets on sale are already out of stock, new items on sale are added pretty much daily. 🙂
Many smaller sets are also on sale, including LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Minecraft, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Ninjago Movie, LEGO Batman Movie, LEGO Architecture, LEGO Friends, LEGO Elves, LEGO Technic and more. You can check for sets on sale under the individual themes, or see them all at the Sale section of the Online LEGO Shop, and use the various categories in the left-hand-side bar to narrow down your search. Again, LEGO is adding more sets to the sale section on a daily basis, so it’s a good idea to check back often at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE LEGO HOLIDAY SETS: As far as special promotions for the month, December 1-10 you will get the #40293 LEGO Seasonal Holiday Carousel with purchases of $99 or more, and December 11-24 you will get the #5005253 LEGO Seasonal Reindeer Ornament with purchases of $50 or more. Both while supplies last. These offers are valid on all purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ DOUBLE LEGO VIP POINTS: LEGO VIP members earn Double VIP Points on select sets, but this offer is only valid today, December 1st.
➡ LEGO VESTAS WIND TURBINE: The #10268 LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine is now available at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. We talked about this set previously (see: LEGO Vestas Wind Turbine Rerelease Coming!), but to recap, the #10268 LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine is a remake of the limited-edition #4999 LEGO Vestas Wind Turbine that was available to Vestas employees back in 2008. The set features a replica of a wind turbine made by Vestas Wind Systems, a Danish manufacturer of wind turbines, and the largest wind turbine company in the world. You can find it at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ 2019 LEGO OVERWATCH SETS: As we discussed previously (see: LEGO Overwatch Sets Preorder & Other Details), the six new LEGO Overwatch sets are scheduled for release on January 1st, but can be pre-ordered now. Please note that they won’t ship until the beginning of January, although there is still some slight hope that LEGO might be able to ship them out before the end of the year. You can find the new sets at the LEGO Overwatch section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ THE LEGO MOVIE 2 SETS: These are also sets we talked about already (see: The LEGO Movie 2 – Second Trailer & New Sets!), however instead of being released on December 26th as initially announced, a couple of the builder boxes are now available at the at The LEGO Movie 2 section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO STAR WARS DARTH VADER CASTLE: The #75251 LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Castle is now available (we talked about this set previously here: LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Castle). This is a unique set featuring Vader’s menacing-looking home with brick-built lava flow, an underground hangar with mouse droid and docking station, ancient Sith shrine with holocron, racks for extra ammunition, and secret compartments hiding more Sith relics. The hangar also houses a buildable TIE Advanced Fighter model with stud shooters and space to sit the Darth Vader minifigure. There’s also a bacta tank, Darth Vader’s meditation chamber with holographic communication unit, and a meeting platform at the top with a defensive stud-shooter cannon. As well as classic Darth Vader, the set also includes a bacta tank version of the Dark Lord, plus two Royal Guards and an Imperial Transport Pilot. Darth Vader’s Castle measures over 16” (41cm) high, 11” (28cm) wide and 9” (23cm) deep. You can find it at official LEGO store and the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ 2019 LEGO SPIDERMAN SETS: Five new 2019 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man sets for younger LEGO fans are already available. This includes the #76113 LEGO Spider-Man Bike Rescue, the #76114 LEGO Spider Man’s Spider Crawler, the #76115 LEGO Spider Mech vs. Venom, the #76133 LEGO Spider-Man Car Chase, and the #76134 LEGO Spider Man: Doc Ock Diamond Heist sets. You can find them at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Besides the sets mentioned above, there are a number of other 2019 sets that are trickling in and have been spotted at various retailers. This includes LEGO City, LEGO Creator, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Minecraft, LEGO Friends, and LEGO Technic. In summary, two places to keep track of this month are the Sale section and the New sets section of the Online LEGO Shop. Keep in mind that if you would like to receive your order by Christmas, the last day to place an order is December 20th. Orders placed after this date are not guaranteed to arrive on time.
If you have a LEGO store near you, and/or other LEGO retailer, it is also a good idea to check their holiday offers. And don’t forget about Amazon, which has an entire dedicated section for LEGO. They have been offering some really good sales during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday events, and I assume they will be continuing with some attractive sales for the rest of the holiday shopping season. Here is the link: SHOP FOR LEGO ON AMAZON
What do you think? What are you planning to get this month? Have you been taking advantage of the sales and deals offered by LEGO and other retailers? What was your best find so far? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I wasn’t aware that Big Ben was going to be sold out so soon! Naturally this brought disappointment and I was sure it was always going to be a desire never to happen. Well… apparently one of Santa’s elves was visiting my computer room, and sent a text to the big guy! There’s going to be a nice extra Lego set with Big Ben on the packaging under the Christmas tree this year. 😀
Okay, what really happened is that while the model is listed as sold out on line, our local Lego store had a few left. Someone close to me is helping me pay for this model so it’s definitely a Christmas gift. 🙂
So, your friend is both an elf and Santa. Got it. 😀
Wikipedia says so! ” St. Nick is described as being “chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf” with “a little round belly”, that “shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly”.
And we /never/ question Wikipedia! XD
Yep, Wikipedia must be right! I only have a skinny little chimney though. Maybe that’s why Santa is not bringing me big LEGO boxes. They won’t fit! Note to self; remodel house to make it Santa friendly! 🙄
Oh, you have access to Santa’s elves???!!! I sure wouldn’t mind if one of them sent a text on my behalf too! 😀
Well… I think it’s a special occasion one of those ‘given the circumstances we can make it happen this time.” If I see one of Santa’s elves again, I’ll put in a good word for ya. You do run an awesome blog so maybe that’ll give you some extra pull. 😉
So, double VIP are on just two Duplo sets? Is that going to change throughout the month? I’m debating about the Wind Turbine. It’s a nice set but also expensive.
I think that’s just a sample image, and there are actually at least some more sets… I haven’t bothered to log in, though…
I did check and those are the only two sets currently offered. It might change though. I’m not sure.
Yes, those are the two sets for now. It’s possible that this will change through the month, although no such announcement has been made. Keep an eye on the VIP membership page.
Finally! Time to open the advent calendars! I really like the Friends one with all the decorations, but I wish they included at least one minidoll. The advent calendar minidolls always had special printing.
Good point! I also like the mini-dolls in Christmas sweaters and shawls! 😀
Darth Vader’s Castle looks AWESOME! Santa, please!!!! Are the other Star Wars sets going to be released in January?
Yes, January 1st is when most of the first wave of 2019 sets will be available. 🙂
Happy holiday season to everyone! Does the Christmas Carousel have any play features? I think it might look nice with the Winter Village.
Yes, it does! Which was a pleasant surprise for us! There is a nob you can turn on the side which makes the top part rotate. It has many nice pieces too, like all the gold decorative pieces, the new leaves and flowers, and there is a tiny train with an engine and two cars. For a free set, this is very nice.
The Christmas sets are very nice this year. I like both the box and the carousel. They have so many nice pieces and colors. Too bad that the minimum purchase is so high to get them, but I can understand. I think I have seen them for around $20-30 on ebay, in case anyone wants to get them separately.
Yeah, I have seen them listed both on eBay and BrickLink, and the prices are not too bad. 🙂
Apparently the set should contain 251 parts, so I guess it would be roughly 25$ as a new set. (It seems to contain mostly pretty basic parts, and no prints.)
I’d skip on it, though. I don’t need to buy new Lego for the amount required, and I don’t feel like chasing down a spare set on eBay for a surplus, myself.

I realized now that the buggy in 76133 Spider-Man Car Chase probably is based on a canonic car.

Oh, wow! Nice find! 😀
