LEGO Ideas Third 2018 Review Results

More news from LEGO Ideas! As we discussed previously, the LEGO Ideas review board has been working on wrapping up the third 2018 LEGO Ideas review period, and the results are now in! There were five fantastic projects in this review period, all of them with the required 10,000 supporters. In the announcement below, host Ali Plumb and LEGO Ideas Associate Engagement Manager, Hasan Jensen talk about the results of the review.

The five product ideas that were under review in the third 2018 LEGO Ideas review period that qualified between September 2018 and January 2019 are as follows: the Queen Victoria Cruise Ship by FlagsNZ, the Playable LEGO Piano by SleepyCow, the Chemical Plant by Ymarilego, the Food Stand Diners by FrostBricks, and the Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons Natural History Collection by Mukkin. And now let’s watch the results.

Congratulations to French LEGO fan Jonathan Brunn (a.k.a. Mukkinn) for his highly educational and display-worthy set of intricate dinosaur skeleton fossils! If you’d like to learn more about Jonathan then make sure to check out his 10K club interview, where he talks about his background, work, hobbies, and what inspired him to build dinosaur skeletons from LEGO!

As you heard in the video, the Playable LEGO Piano by Donny Chen (a.k.a. SleepyCow) is still under review due to the complexity of the model. The LEGO Ideas team will share an update in the next review results later this year. If you’d like to learn more about Donny then make sure to check out his 10K club interview, which also gives a great indication of why the review board finds his submission very interesting.

The dinosaur skeletons are being planned for a 2019 launch, however the LEGO Ideas team is still working out the final product design, pricing, and availability for this set. In addition, the next batch of LEGO Ideas projects is already in review. These nine product ideas reached 10,000 supporters between January and May January 2019 as possible future LEGO sets. Results will be shared later in the fall.

And we can also look forward to the LEGO Treehouse, by LEGO fan Kevin Feeser (a.k.a. KevinTreeHouse) which should be released sometime soon. And don’t forget about all the recently released LEGO Ideas sets like the #21316 LEGO Ideas The Flintstones, the #21317 LEGO Ideas Steamboat Willie, the previously released but still available #21315 LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book, the #21311 LEGO Ideas Voltron, the #21313 LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle, the #21309 LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V, the #21312 LEGO Ideas Women of NASA, and the #21314 LEGO Ideas TRON: Legacy. You can find them all at the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Are you excited about the review results? Or were you hoping that some of the other projects get selected? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

I had either forgotten or missed the announcement about the treehouse. That looks great!

The dinosaurs are okay, but I was really hoping to get the Chemical Plant.

I agree with brickmaster, the chemical plant looks a lot more interesting than dinosaur fossils. Of course then again I can make a replica Museum of Natural History set up.

I’m happy that the piano is still under review. And my kids will love the dinos! I like Pirate Bay from the next batch.

I was hoping for the fast food stands but glad to see that the piano is still under review. The dino skeletons should make a good set too!

I’m very happy to see the results. The dino set is educational for kids. So is the piano, if it makes it. I read the interviews and I like how both builders went for the educational angle.

The piano is incredible! I hope it will get approved. The dinosaurs are good too. I was also hoping for the chemical plant. Nothing really stands out to me from the next batch. They all appear to be too big.
