I have mixed feelings about this theme / storyline. One, I’m not a big fan of Lego combining their franchise with video games. It takes away the whole purpose of Lego. Two, ninjago was always associated with the elements. Kai ( fire) , jay ( lightning), Cole ( earth) , Zane ( ice) etc. The concept of light and dark ( good and evil). I almost believe that Lego did almost like a throw away theme or concept for this series. They should have stuck with Eastern style dragons. Who knows it might grow on me. I like the Scott mini figure because my best friend name is Scott. I heard rumers that there is going to be more ninjago this summer. I guess ( and mentioned this before) I can combine nexo knights with Ninjago this time around.🤔
I remember the same concerns about the Digiverse. I guess they feel like it’s good to change the story up for each season. Dragons, pirates, serpents, and sometimes digital worlds.
Hmmm, I think I root for Brute here, he seems like a symphatetic fella…
Otherwise, my first impression is actually… I hope this will lead to more blue, purple and teal hairpieces… (That’d be awesome!)
And I wonder which dance classes Jay might have taken, Capoeira or Peking Opera?
Ok, Tron meets Blade Runner meets Ready Player One equals awesome! I’m in .😎. First comment was a concern. second comment. Cancels out the first comment. Lol!😎.
“We lost the suspects! Report to Unagami. No, you report to Unagami”. Emperor Unagami doesn’t sound like a nice guy. 😀
So who is the mystery dude?
It’s a mystery, obviously…
So, which of the Ninjago sets are you guys going to get? I picked up the Gamers Market and I don’t know what my next move should be. Any thoughts?
I also like the market the most. I’m not sure about the other ones yet. The racers are pretty cool but haven’t gotten them yet.
I haven’t seen the arcade pods in my local walmart yet. I want to get Jay’s at least.
The arcade pods are cool, but keep in mind they are bigger than a normal minifig size arcade would be. That’s a little disappointing. Another disappointing thing is that all the decorations, including the large graphics on the sides are stickers. I was hoping those are printed.
I feel like Lego has been dropping the ball on Ninjago lately. No big sets, and finding the episodes online is becoming impossible. Many of the seasons haven’t even been released on DVD yet!
Yeah, I agree with you nofakebricks. I’m waiting for a couple of seasons to come out on DVD still. The last dvd I have from Ninjago is the sons of Garmadon. So, I don’t know what’s going on?
A plan : I already have the gamers market set. My next purchase should be Jay’s Cyber Dragon because it too has a lot of Minifigures and lot of the main bad guys in this one set. Second, I think I’ll purchase Empires Dragon to balance the battle between Jay’s dragon. Third, I’ll purchase ninja tuner car. Finally, Cole’s speeder car. This way I’ll get all the ninjas in a reasonable way. I know I would get duplicates but that’s unavoidable. Is it just me, or does one of the rat pack ( the pink one ) remind me of the bad guy Bebop from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?🤔.
I noticed that similarity too. Such “inspirations” seem very common with Lego. (Others do it too, so I don’t blame them.)
Indeed, but pop culture tropes tend to get borrowed and reborrowed constantly. As old as campfire storytelling…
