LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Now Available

This is just a quick reminder that the recently announced #75290 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars: A New Hope is now available for LEGO VIP members (wider release will be on October 1st). If you would like to get this set before the end of the year, I recommend you get it as soon as possible. LEGO is already dealing with shortages in North America due to the temporary closure of the LEGO factory in Mexico. With the holiday season upon us, it’s expected that the most desirable sets will be even harder to find as people want to get them for Christmas.

You can read more about the #75290 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina in the press-release, but just to recap, the  set is part of the LEGO Star Wars Master Builder Series display models and comes with 3,187 pieces and 21 minifigures, including Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ponda Baba, Garindan, and Labria, plus an R2-D2 LEGO droid figure and a Dewback. Seven of the minifigs are brand new characters exclusive to the set – three of which feature unique molded elements.

The buildable Mos Eisley Cantina model measures over 7.5” (19cm) high, 20.5” (52cm) wide and 23” (58cm) deep when opened up. The Cantina has a removable roof for easy access to the different booths so you can explore the many authentic details and play out stories with the heroes and an array of smugglers, bounty hunters, and aliens. The set also comes with an attachable buildings and two Landspeeders to make an awesome display scene.

If you’re a LEGO VIP member and interested to get the #75290 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina, you can purchase it now before it becomes available to the general public on October 1st. Prices are as follows: £319.99, €349.99, $349.99. For further details and to purchase the set, visit the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the new LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina. Is this a set you are interested in? What are your favorite details? And what do you think of the included minifigures? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

THe more I look at pictures of this set, the more I like it. I guess it wants to take my money?

I would love to get this set! It looks incredible!

Aren’t we aso supposed to get a free Yoda lightsaber? I don’t see it in my cart.

    • Thita (admin) September 16, 2020, 1:12 PM

Yes, we supposed to get a free Yoda’s Lightsaber, but for some reason it was either removed in the US or stock ran out way too fast.

That’s disappointing. I heard rumors they may start a lightsaber collection. I don’t want to miss out on this one.

So what does that mean? We won’t be able to get the lightsaber at all?

        • Pepper September 16, 2020, 4:45 PM

They will probably bring it back for the wider release on October 1. That’s my guess. But then of course you risk the set getting sold out by then.

What’s the idea with the additional building? Why is it separate?

  • Legostuff14 September 16, 2020, 3:36 PM

I think Lego has figure out a way to use Jedi mind tricks on us. Big star wars set you want, pay lots of money you will. Lol!

Don’t look them in the eye! Seriously, this is a fantastic set. One of my favorite Star Wars sets of all time.

So, if it’s out of stock for VIP members does that mean it’s out of stock for when officially comes out?

Picked mine up at the LEGO store an hour after they opened today.
Don’t know if they had more in the back but there was at least a dozen sets stacked by the register. They also seemed to have plenty of the promos.
This was at the San Mateo CA store if anyone is interested and in the area.

There was an idea it was the hideout for the droids…

  • Legostuff14 September 16, 2020, 8:13 PM

Well it’s out of stock on lego.com. So, I’ll wait and see if it’s available on October 1st.

They generally always have stock to release on the official day, but it might sell-out fast. Stores will usually get some additional stock as well. When I went to a Lego store for the Nintendo console, there was a line and they were giving out tickets in the line (and yes we were all a few feet apart and wearing masks!). So once the tickets were gone that meant no more stock in the store. But they said more usually comes in about 1-2 weeks later; will probably be the same with this. I think it will be a big seller for the Holiday season so I don’t think this will be super-limited but it might be hard to get your hands on if you want it quickly.

This one I really wanted, vs the DiagonAlley I was mixed on. But I got distracted this AM and by the time I checked back it was already sold out. If you check online every morning between now and Oct 1, you might get lucky and find it up for order again; but sometimes it won’t come back until “release” date, and then maybe not for long before “temporarily out of stock” again.

Thanks, pmarin. I’ll keep that in mind.

How does this have 3k pieces? It looks like two normal play sets combinded with extra figs tbh.

    • Håkan September 17, 2020, 2:09 PM

A compact build with lots of small pieces, I guess. A good supply for tan pieces, anyway…

It’s actually fairly substantial, based on some of the lifestyle pictures. 🙂
