LEGO is running an early Black Friday event for LEGO VIP members this weekend. This is a great way to avoid the Black Friday shopping madness, and you also have a better chance of getting the sets you want before they go out of stock. Below are the details.
During LEGO VIP weekend (November 20-21), you will get the #40410 LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute set with purchases of $150 or more. This is a nicely designed, quite substantial 333-piece set with exclusive minifigs. This offer is valid at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
The second freebie this weekend is the #5006291 LEGO Teal Brick with purchases of $200 or more. This is a 110-piece set for building a teal-colored large 2×4 stud LEGO brick on a black stand. A freebie for sure! This offer is also valid at official LEGO stores and Online LEGO Shop.
In addition, you will also get Double VIP Points on all purchases this weekend, which basically means a 10% discount. Double VIP Points are especially beneficial for purchasing large exclusive sets that do not go on sale otherwise. This offer is also valid at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
And there is yet another freebie for LEGO VIP members. The #10274 LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 is already available for LEGO VIP members before the wider release next month. (You can read more about this set via the links at the end of this post.) Those who purchase the set will also receive a very cool Ghostbusters: Afterlife poster with the LEGO version of the Ecto-1. The poster is 10×13 inches printed on good quality paper and packaged in plastic film to avoid wrinkling. If you plan to get the Ecto-1, this is a nice addition for a cool display. You can purchase the set at the LEGO Creator Expect section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Three other recently released sets that are worth considering at this time is the delightful #21324 LEGO Ideas 123 Sesame Street set, the very cool #76161 LEGO DC Super Heroes 1989 Batwing, and the completely redesigned, upgraded, and refreshed LEGO MINDSTORMS system with the #51515 LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 5-in-1 Set.
Besides the new sets and promotions mentioned here, remember that there are many other new sets that were released in the past couple of months, including the #75290 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina, the #75978 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set, the #21323 LEGO Ideas Playable Piano, the #71374 LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, the #43179 LEGO Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters, the four new LEGO Art mosaics, and many new sets under LEGO Batman, LEGO City, LEGO Creator 3-in-1, LEGO Disney, LEGO Friends, LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Hidden Side, LEGO Iron Man, LEGO Monkie Kid, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Super Mario, LEGO Technic, and LEGO Trolls. To see the full list visit the new items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I buy the minimum possible to get the freebie so that if another freebie comes along I have other items that I want. Last night I purchased the modular bookshop. I’d held it purchasing it for such an event. Had to add a little Keyring to get it over the limit. The brick doesn’t interest me enough to spend another £50. Let’s see what Black Friday brings us.
I was able to get sesame street. I’m very excited. And I also added a few other sets I know we can use for Christmas. Thanks for the heads up.
I didn’t see this until late, so I think I will shop tomorrow. I hope they still have the stuff I want.
Do you know what the black Friday specials are going to be? Are they better? worse?
According to the shopping catalog we got, they will have the Charles Dickens tribute set and that’s it. You get a better deal this weekend with double VIP points and the same freebie.
There are also going to be some sets 20% off, but yes, that’s pretty much it.
Just a heads up. It seems like the teal brick is no longer available. That was kind of expected with all the orders, but it’s a little disappointing.
I have been checking on the 2021 sets on Brickset. I’m curious about the new baseplate system they have with City. Admin, are you planning to review these?
I think it’s good that you could customize the zebra crossings more logically than for the older road plates, but I wonder how they would handle curves.
Yes, curves have been the biggest question.
Yes, I will try to get at least the basic set with the road. I’m curious as well.
