LEGO Double VIP Points This Weekend!

Just a quick reminder that today and tomorrow are the last days to earn Double VIP Points at the Online LEGO Shop. This is the perfect time to pick up some of sets that you have been on your wanted list. The Double VIP Points period is especially great for picking up exclusive sets that normally don’t go on sale.

There are tons of recently released sets to consider, and we also talked about some of the upcoming new sets that will be released in August, and are already available for pre-order.

LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Disney, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Monkie Kid, LEGO Creator, LEGO City, LEGO Friends, LEGO Speed Champions and LEGO Technic are just some of the categories with lots of new sets worth checking out.

Also, remember that LEGO now has a special section just for adult builders at the Online LEGO Shop.

The LEGO Art Mosaics and the LEGO Super Heroes and LEGO Star Wars masks are particularly popular with adult collectors.

Those who are looking for something more playful and magical, the LEGO Disney, LEGO Ninjago, and LEGO Monkie Kid sets are a fun choice.

And if you prefer something more realistic, take a look at some of the awesome LEGO space exploration sets made in collaboration with NASA.

Again, the LEGO Double VIP Points period expires this Sunday, so you have a couple of days to make a purchase. If you like feel free to share what you’re planning to get in the comment section below!

    Thanks! We almost missed out.

When are the summer sets coming out? I’m still waiting for those.

According to this site, it seems like a lot of sets would be released in August. Many of these will be late releases for the US market, that’s already been released in Europe.

And I took advantage of the drive to buy 76178 Daily Bugle, 40516 Everyone is Awesome and various parts on Bricks and Pieces (including some cheap minifig heads in natural skin tones).

Wow! You got the Bugle! Awesome! William told me he also got it, so I’m curious to hear what you guys think! I don’t have space for it myself, so I decided to sit it out. But I’m still jealous. 😀

Biggest and most expensive Lego set I’ve bought so far. I almost regret it. @_@

But the 2x VIP point drive could almost have me get 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop or 76196-1 Marvel Super Heroes Advent Calendar for free, I guess. At least combined with some older VIP points since earlier…

Hmm, one thing I wondered about the Daily Bugle set is that there apparently is a new head for “Ron Barney”, a character only known from a throwaway byline in a 1997 issue of Marvel Vision, an official fan magazine. The head was apparently based on some concept art, but it seems very unlikely that Lego would make a new head for such a throwaway character, so it likely was made first for some other set that’s been delayed. A qualified guess is that the head is based on concept art of Jeffrey Wright as a (black this time) James Gordon in the upcoming ‘The Batman’ movie that’s been delayed several times due to Covid…

(People have noted that the name is similar to Ron Garney, a reasonably successful veteran Marvel artist, but judging from his Wikipedia article, he’s a white guy, so the connection sounds unlikely…)

Do any of you have the HP village visit? Is it worth it? I’m thinking about mixing it with the winter village sets.

I have it for the same reason. Haven’t had the time to build it yet, but they seem to be the exact same scale. And they even have snow on the roof so it’s perfect!

I’m jealous too. I wish I could get the Daily Bugle but I just don’t have the space or the money for it . However I’ve been toying with the idea of combining Ninjago with monkie kid and the legend of Chima sets. So I tried it and realized I don’t have enough space for the entire Legend of Chima sets. However, I decided to keep the gorilla tribe because I’m thinking of and when I have the money I want to get the legendary flower fruit Mountain set to expand my setup. I’ll figure I’ll use my imagination and pretend that the monkey’s are a tribe and the gorilla tribe are working together to fight off both Ninjagos enemies as well as monkie kids enemies. It might just work.🤔.

The gorillas were my favorites. They were also some of the cheapest ones to get. Like I never got the tiger because it only came in one set.

      • Håkan July 19, 2021, 5:32 PM

The tiger tribe only appeared in three sets with four different characters (two regular and one in two different appearances), I see by checking up on Bricklink.
