We already talked about the new LEGO City Space sets and the upcoming LEGO Lightyear space sets (see links at the end of this post), and there is yet another space set that will be released soon. The #41713 LEGO Friends Olivia’s Space Academy was developed in collaboration with NASA and will be available starting on May 1st.
The #41713 LEGO Friends Olivia’s Space Academy features authentic details from the real space shuttle program like scientifically correct imagery and the classroom’s whiteboard with real spaceflight equations.
The space shuttle comes with an opening payload bay and a Canadarm so mini-dolls can safely explore space.
The academy building includes a telescope, a multi-axis trainer, mission control, and a space gallery with a Sun, Earth, and Moon orbiting model.
The four LEGO Friends characters are Olivia and William in space suits, and Dr. Vidya and Julian.
The academy measures over 10 in. (26 cm) high, 8 in. (21 cm) wide, and 3 in. (10 cm) deep, and the Shuttle measures over 3 in. (8 cm) high, 9 in. (23 cm) long, and 5 in. (15 cm) wide. The set comes with 757 pieces, and the price is $69.99. Although it won’t be available until May 1st, it is it’s already listed at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.
This is a fantastic-looking set and it also has potential for expansion. What do you think? Are you excited about this LEGO Friends space exploration set? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

I like the planets display on the side. Of course, they had to put a hot pink stripe on the shuttle, but I suppose that could be changed easily
This is pretty cool. I even like the hot pink stripe. XD
The facade is quite fascinating, looks far less LEGO-y than the usual set building, what with the flex tube and the planet stickers (?).
Ah, well, space is always space, although I’ve never gotten complety sold on the minidolls.
Well, objectively, this is not too shabby, but my space and fundings have become so limited, so I can’t spend too much on new Lego, though. Possibly if there’ll be a big discount later.
Space mini-dolls are pretty cool, once you get acquainted with them. I consider them small and cute action figures. 😀
I guess they – and the Elves minidolls – work, but the only minidolls I seriously want are the DC Superhero Girls…
OMG! Me too! They are my favorites! I was able to get a few of them, but they were so expensive on BrickLink, I kind of gave up. But they are still on my wanted list. 🙂
