LEGO at 2022 Comic-Con, Pick-A-Brick Survey & More!

There are several LEGO-related news items that accumulated in the past few days and I thought you might find interesting. Read on below.

After two years of hiatus due to COVID-related uncertainties and restrictions, the in-person version of San Diego Comic-Con is back this year! The event will take place July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center. Although the full schedule hasn’t been announced yet, we already know that LEGO is going to participate on Thursday, July 21st at 10:15 AM PDT in Room 6DE. Here is the official description: “Explore the art of world-building the LEGO way with writers, artists, and builders as they co-create unique characters, settings, and storylines in an original story world, all from scratch using the LEGO WorldBuilder platform. Featuring Celina Frenn (writer, My Little Pony), Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt (writers, Ninjago), Paul Lee (concept artist), Peter Donner (LEGO designer), and Asa Tait (head of production, LEGO Entertainment).” If you would like to keep updated on this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, visit the program schedule section of the San Diego Comic-Con website.

The team behind the Pick-A-Brick experience at the Online LEGO Shop is looking for the feedback of adult LEGO fans. This is your chance to provide direct feedback about your current experience with purchasing individual pieces via the Online LEGO Shop and help build the Pick-A-Brick experience of the future. The Pick-A-Brick team considers the voice of adult LEGO fans extremely valuable, so take a moment to fill out the anonymous questionnaire here feedback: Pick-A-Brick Community Survey

LEGO ran a Double VIP Points period just a week ago, and they are repeating the event next week. You will earn Double VIP Points on all purchases July 12-13 at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. Please note that this offer is also valid on pre-orders that will be released later this year. This is a great time to purchase larger sets you have been saving up for! To take advantage of this offer, visit the Online LEGO Shop.

Amazon Prime Day – the biggest online shopping event of the summer – also falls on July 12-13. Amazon Prime Day deals are often similar to those that you see on Black Friday. It is a great time to find early holiday presents, restock your supplies, or upgrade your appliances and electronics. And of course, also shop for LEGO. Deals are typically available only to Amazon Prime members, who pay $139 for an annual membership (or $14.99 per month for a monthly membership). If you’re not a member yet, you can sign up for a free Amazon Prime trial to take advantage of the deals. If you decide not to become a paying member, remember to cancel the trial within 30 days to avoid being charged. Follow the link to learn more about Amazon Prime Day.

What do you think? Did you participate in the Pick-A-Brick survey? Are you planning to follow the San Diego Comic-Con events? And are you planning to get any LEGO sets during the shopping events? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

Oh! I completely forgot about comicon! Are they going to have exclusive figs and sets?

I assume they will. Haven’t heard anything though.

Thanks for the questionnaire. I filled it out. I wish there was a space to add more comments at the end. I’m disappointed by the lack of the current selection.

I wonder how well attended Comic-Con is going to be with the flair up of COVID cases. Are they going to have any virtual sessions for those who can’t or don’t want to attend in person?

I don’t see an online version on the website. But that may change. Like you said, covid cases are on the rise again, so who knows what will happen. I assume the organizers took this into consideration.

It’s a pent-up desire for a large target group, so many might still take the chance and bet on not being hit heavily after all the waves so far. The mutated variants might spread even easier, but not be as dangerous as the earlier variants for the general population, as far as I have understood.

Man, I would love to go to Comic Con one day! It sounds so much fun! Not just for the lego, but for the other stuff too.

SDCC is intense, I have understood. And I think it could still be pretty difficult to get unscalped tickets as a newcomer…

The survey doesn’t play well with mobile. Best to use a larger device. And like yoladiel said, I would have liked more room for feedback.

Lego is probably doing the double vip points because of Amazon prime day. They know it’s a huge event.

Hmm, my last PAB order during the prior 2xVIP session is listed as finalized; yet, it seems to show up on the PAB section while I still scroll through bricks to order in the assortment. Curious.
