Back in October of last year, the LEGO Ideas team ran a contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, the popular fantasy tabletop role-playing game. A panel of judges consisting of members from the LEGO Ideas team and the Wizards of the Coast team picked five designs from the pool of submissions, and they asked LEGO fans to vote for their favorite. This helped the judges gauge fan interest in specific designs and finally select one of the submissions to become an official LEGO set. Below is the official announcement. Take a look, and let’s talk about this!
“We know who made the fan vote, but who has had their entry selected to become one of the next LEGO Ideas sets?! After hundreds of entries and an exciting fan vote, only one could be selected! A huge thank you to everyone who participated. We are very happy to announce that Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End has been selected! A huge congratulations to BoltBuilds, the incredible designer behind this submission. This submission will be part of the 50 years of Dungeons and Dragons celebrations and is now joining the other LEGO Ideas products we have in development. We cannot wait to see this set in the hands of fans in the future!”
One of the exciting features of the winning submissions is that it will also satisfy LEGO Castle fans and maybe even fans of LEGO Vikings. What do you think? How do you like the final selection? Are you excited about the upcoming set? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

I’m sad the others aren’t being made (I thought all the finalists were great), but I’m happy this one is being made!
I was fairly sure that was going to to win. Good choice! I’m happy.
This was the most impressive and eye-catching build, although I guess it would be reduced somewhat as a final set… (Although it would still get complaints as being too expensive…)
Anyway, I guess and hope the final set could still be cool, although it probably would be too big and expensive for me, personally…
Another castle type set, so no complaints from me! And the dragon is intriguing.
