Today, the LEGO Group unveiled the iconic #21347 LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box set, a classic British symbol recognized worldwide. Released in the same year that the K2 Telephone Box celebrates its 100th anniversary, the new LEGO set is inspired by the iconic red and black structure that’s a quintessential symbol of London.
The perfect set for display, the #21347 LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box features an opening door, a light brick in the roof to illuminate the K2 Telephone Box when pushing down the top, and a lamppost with flowerpots and a cobbled street – invoking a sense of nostalgia and an enduring connection to a city that seamlessly blends history with modernity.
Designed by John Cramp, from Leicester, England, as part of the LEGO Ideas program – whereby fans can submit a design that other fans can then vote to be made into a real LEGO set. In a lovely twist that brings the set right up to date, the design also includes a stand for your mobile phone.
Talking about the new set, Michael Smy, Head of Street at BT Group said; “The K2 red phone box is seen as a British cultural icon throughout the world, and we’re delighted that the Lego Group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its design with this model. Fast forward to today and whilst communications have rapidly evolved, the iconic K2 continues to play a part in communities through BT’s Adopt a Kiosk scheme. As we continue to build the next generation of communication networks, we’re proud that more than 7,200 phone boxes have already been adopted across the UK, repurposed into mini libraries and life-saving defibrillators, among others.”

Well, that’s a surprise. I completely forgot about this set coming. Not for me, but it looks good. 🤗
You know what I like the most? The street lamp. It’s a really cool design.
That’s what I like too. And the fence. By the way, thus reminds me of the Dr. Who
Sorry, I hit the wrong button. So I was thinking of the tardis set they released a few years ago. I wonder if they’re comparable in size.
21304 Doctor Who ? It’s a bit unclear what you mean, but I would say no…

Do they still use those phone booths? I’m just wondering. Also are those pieces printed?
Apparently occasionally, but mostly in rural areas where cellphone connection is poor.
A lot of the old booths have been bought up by churches and voluntary organizations to be used as mini-libraries, freeshops and similar, though.

Ha! I like how they made it into a phone holder.
