LEGO Avengers Helicarrier Available for Pre-Order!

Back in 2015, LEGO released the #76042 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier. This was a massive set with 2,296 pieces and measuring over 11” (29cm) high, 31” (80cm) long and 17” (45cm) wide. It featured two runways, microscale Quinjets, fighter jets, ground support vehicles, a highly detailed interior, as well as five regular-size minifigures and twelve micro-figures. Matching the hefty size was also a hefty price of $350, which fell outside the budget of many LEGO fans.

The set has been retired, but the Helicarrier remains a popular subject with Marvel fans, so it made sense for LEGO to release a new model. Interestingly, this time they are taking a different approach. Instead of releasing another massive set, they are using midi-scale for the upcoming #76295 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Helicarrier.

Midi-scale has been very popular with Star Wars fans. It’s basically a smaller version of large ships that still allows plenty of details. They are more practical for small display spaces, they take less time and effort to build and are also more affordable at $79.99.

The new #76295 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Helicarrier comes with 509 pieces and measures over 7 in. (18 cm) high, 13 in. (33 cm) long and 8.5 in. (22 cm) wide. It features the two runways, and Quinjets represented by small tile pieces and there is also lots of greebling around the ship to suggest mechanical parts. A removable display stand is also included. I find it interesting that LEGO chose not to add any minifigures with this set – it would have been a perfect opportunity to release some unique variations of the main characters. But in any case, this set is still a good option for those who missed out on the larger Helicarrier, or simply prefer a smaller version.

The #76295 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Helicarrier is going to be available in August, but you can already pre-order it at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the new Helicarrier? Do you prefer smaller starships over larger versions? Or do you like minifig-scale models? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

They seem to be the same as in the earlier set,, and I think those were printed.

As a Marvel fan, I’m mostly interested in new minifigs. Alas, Marvel might not have as many iconic vehicles and buildings as Star Wars, as well…
