You might have heard by now that A Minecraft Movie is set to be released in April of this year. It’s an adventure comedy film based on the popular video game developed by Mojang Studios. In the film, four misfits are pulled through a portal into a cubic world that thrives on imagination, having no choice but to master the world while embarking on a quest with an unexpected, expert crafter.

The four misfits are Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks). They find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through to the aforementioned mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world. Below is the trailer.
As LEGO already has the license for Minecraft it’s only natural that they will be releasing sets related to the film. Two sets related to the film have been revealed so far.

I have included a preview video below by JANGBRiCKS. I found it helpful to walk through the sets and notice the little details.
There are also several regular LEGO Minecraft sets that were already released this year or will be released soon, so you may want to take a look at those as well at the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I don’t really care for the movie, but the sets look good. I will just mix them with my Minecraft setup. The minifigs add another dimension and possibilities.
It’s fun that the only functional difference between these and the normal Minecraft sets is that the minifigs have regular round heads.
Exactly! I really like they kept them compatible.
