LEGO Sets Honoring Historical Figures Collection

Over the years, LEGO has celebrated some of humanity’s most influential figures — from pioneering scientists and daring explorers to beloved authors who shaped the imagination of generations. These collectible tribute sets blend storytelling, history, and creativity in signature LEGO style.

The journey began with the #40291 LEGO Creative Personalities (2018), a charming tribute to Hans Christian Andersen’s creative genius. In the #40410 LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (2020), builders recreate a cozy vignette from A Christmas Carol, complete with Ebenezer Scrooge’s study and festive Victorian details.

The #40450 LEGO Amelia Earhart Tribute (2021) takes flight with a striking red Lockheed Vega airplane, honoring the pioneering aviator’s courage and groundbreaking achievements. A year later, the #40530 LEGO Jane Goodall Tribute (2022) paid homage to the world-renowned primatologist and conservationist with a thoughtful jungle scene, reflecting her life’s work protecting chimpanzees and the environment.

The same year, the #40579 LEGO Eiffel’s Apartment (2022) offered a glimpse into the private workspace of Gustave Eiffel, the visionary engineer behind Paris’s most iconic landmark — a perfect companion to the towering Eiffel Tower set.

In the #40595 LEGO Tribute to Galileo Galilei (2023), LEGO celebrated one of the fathers of modern science with a detailed observatory scene, complete with telescope, celestial diagrams, and a touch of Renaissance flair. Following this, #40690 LEGO Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books (2024) captured the imaginative worlds of the legendary science-fiction author, blending steampunk adventure with literary nostalgia.

And now, the #40766 LEGO Tribute to Jane Austen’s Books (2025) charms fans of classic literature with an elegant display celebrating Austen’s wit, insight, and timeless storytelling.

Playmobil has an extensive and beautiful historic figures collection, and I have always wished that LEGO would do something similar. The sets released so far are very promising and form a lovely mini-collection. I hope they will continue with similar sets in the future.

What do you think? How do you like these LEGO sets with historic figures? Do you have any of them already? Do you collect them? Who else would you like to see in the series? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

I try to get these, but it’s so hard when they are GWP. They should just make this a regular series.

I have a bunch of the minifig parts, but the only set I own is the Jane Austen set. Not really due to being a super fan, but just a coincidence since it was a GWP when I bought a bigger set at 2x VIP Points…

And it’s a good set, I just wouldn’t go out of my way to get it…

I like this series, but like others said, it’s hard to get them. The Palymobil historic figures series is really good. My sister collects them.

Totally agree with others. These should be regular sets!

I also agree this is a great idea for a series, but, as pointed out, most (or all) of the ones you list are gift with purchase and hard to get. If the molds still exist, Lego can package sets of three for general release, maybe only in SAH and Lego stores.

Lego has Asian sets, maybe they should consider (for example) “American history sets.” They could celebrate our country’s upcoming anniversary with minifigures for Washington, Jefferson. Franklin, etc. There could even be a contest where collectors nominate/vote for favorites. Maybe a collection of six figures, a mini-liberty bell, etc. Endless possibilities.

The Asian sets are only produced for the Chinese New Year. Besides, strictly American sets might have limited global appeal.

Is your list in the article complete?

    • Thita (admin) October 28, 2025, 10:10 AM

Yes, it’s complete up to date.

Complete only for gift with purchase sets. There is a set that is for sale called the evolution of STEM. This set comes with figures of Marie Curie and George Washington Carver among others.

I have the Dickens set and the Galileo set. Love them both! The only disappointment for me is the fact that the Christmas Carol set doesn’t actually have a scene from the book. Could’ve added a Ghost of Christmas Present figure and put Scrooge in his sleeping gown and been true to the story. Still one of my favorite sets ever.

Love the idea of historical figures! Would love to order them for grandkids!

If they have serious interest in a historical figure/events series, which they should I agree, the upcoming US 250th birthday would be a nice piggyback. Perhaps a set of vignettes with a multi mini fig Declaration signing, maybe the Ride if Paul Revere, Washington crossing the Delaware. Could be an additional business opportunity. My 2 cents
