LEGO keeps revealing more and more LEGO sets that will be released next year. One smaller set that has been creating a lot of buzz is the #71858 LEGO Ninjago Four Weapons Blacksmith 15th Anniversary set.
The reason this set is viewed with so much excitement is that this was the first-ever location in the pilot episode of the LEGO Ninjago TV show – the place where it all started – but it was never made into a detailed LEGO set (there were a couple of small/partial versions in the past). And this time, LEGO designers made sure that it is full of authentic details.
On the outside, the blacksmith shop is nicely finished on all four sides with a bit of landscaping and rockwork. The inside is accessible by opening the hinged wall at the back. One side is a bedroom and the other is the forge – both packed with details and accessories from the show’s history. There are hidden decorative stickers behind the removable helmet and hood displays, and you can push out a sign to reveal the golden weapons map, which was so important to the beginning of the story.
The included six minifigures are Blacksmith Kai, Nya, their parents Ray and Maya, Master Wu, plus, for the first time, a collectible elemental Master of Earth on a stand – all with highly detailed outfits.
Take a look at the video, which explains the significance of the set in more detail.
The set contains a surprising 1,259 pieces, which is quite a lot for a medium-sized building measuring only 7 in. (18 cm) high, 9 in. (23 cm) wide, and 6 in. (16 cm) deep. I suppose all the pieces are going into the tiny details. The set is going to be available starting on January 1st, for the price of $99.99 at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
