Although it’s a little late in the holiday shopping season, there are still some festive LEGO sets you can pick up before Christmas. Let’s take a look!
The #10361 LEGO Holiday Express Train is the official LEGO Winter Village set this year. We have discussed this set in detail already (see links at the end of this post). However, in brief, this festive locomotive comes with a bobbing smokestack, coal tender, flatcar carrying a bell-ringing polar bear, and an end car with a furnished interior. You can even motorize it with a LEGO Powered Up kit (sold separately). And the set includes a specialized 3-D printed part (a small train) as an extra special accessory. LEGO has been doing a good job keeping this set in stock, so you can still get it at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #41843 LEGO Family Christmas Tree is the second big holiday set this year, but unfortunately, it is currently out of stock. However, you can set up back-in-stock notification by email on the product page. This set celebrates the holiday with a fun family bonding activity centered on a LEGO display set and makes a great early Christmas gift for families and kids aged 9 and up. The building kit includes a large Christmas tree on a base with opening panels and hidden rooms. There’s a sleigh for Santa Claus, a reindeer figure, a snowman, and a reindeer ‘plushies’, a brick-built Cataclaws, Mrs. Claus, and five industrious elves, along with fun accessories. After the holiday, the tree separates into sections for easy storage, ready for next Christmas. And of course, you can run the above-mentioned train around the tree! The third larger-sized Christmas set this year is the #40820 LEGO Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure. This set features a LEGO minifigure-style Santa in an up-scaled size of over 10.5 inches high. Just like a traditional minifigure, this model has moving arms and can be posed to sit or stand. This set is still in stock (as of this writing) at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The very popular #40806 LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-AT is currently out of stock, but you can set up a back-in-stock notification by email on the product page. This is such a fun set with a gingerbread-house-style AT-AT and a Gingerbread Darth Vader minifig. You can pose the legs of the AT-AT, open the cockpit, and flip up the sides of the main compartment to reveal the cozy interior with a seat by the fireplace for Darth Vader, a table, a drinking cup, cookie and candy cane pieces, stockings hanging on the wall, a pile of gifts, and other festive accessories for creative play. The #40809 LEGO Festive Gingerbread House is another popular Christmas set this year, and it is also out of stock, but you can sign up for notifications. It’s a fun set that can be displayed closed for a more compact display that looks great from every side, or opened for a wider but narrower layout (like on a shelf). Inside, you will find Santa’s desk, fireplace. and bedroom, and outside, the whole house is covered with colorful candy pieces and white icing. This set can be displayed on its own or could be a nice addition to a LEGO Winter Village layout. You can find it at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.
There are also a few smaller decorative sets, like the #40812 LEGO Snowman Ornaments with two cute festively dressed snowmen, the #40743 LEGO Christmas Table Decoration, the #10370 LEGO Poinsettia, and the #10340 LEGO Holiday Wreath.
LEGO is offering a new freebie this weekend as well. The cute #40778 LEGO Winter Gazebo includes three caroling minifigures in holiday sweaters in front of a snow-covered gazebo. This is another nice set that could be added to a LEGO Winter Village layout. It is available until December 9th with purchases of $150 or more at the Online LEGO Shop.
