The reveal of new LEGO sets keeps coming! These sets will be available in January, but you can already add them to your wish-list at the Online LEGO Shop. Below, I will highlight some of my favorites, and you can list your own picks in the comment section below.
Let’s start with Series 28 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures, featuring animal costumes! There are a total of 12 characters to collect, including minifigs wearing parrot, lion, frog, crocodile, Dalmatian, goldfish, cute bunny, peacock, fluffy cat, koala, dolphin, and monkey costumes. They will be $4.99 each, available at the LEGO Minifigures section of the Online LEGO Shop.
There is a fantastic collection of work vehicles under LEGO City, including the #60478 LEGO City Cement Mixer, the #60495 LEGO City Recycling Truck, the #60498 LEGO City Tractor, and the #60500 LEGO City LEGO Van. There is also an unusual train this year in the #60508 LEGO City Police Train Heist. You can see them all, and many other upcoming sets, at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
An interesting sub-theme of LEGO City is LEGO City Rides, with tiny vehicles and baby drivers. So far, there are four sets in the collection, all $9.99 each. You can find them at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO Creator also has some really nice upcoming offerings. The #31377 LEGO Creator Turtle with Waterlily, the #31378 LEGO Creator Space Exploration Telescope, the #31380 LEGO Creator Retro Gaming Console, and the #31384 LEGO Creator Colorful Hummingbird all look fun to build, and they all come with two other alternate building instructions. You can find them at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO DreamZzz continues to impress with some really imaginative sets, this time, mixing mechs with animals. Take a look at the #71508 LEGO DreamZzz Fox Guardian Mech, the #71512 LEGO DreamZzz Crocodile Submarine, the #71513 LEGO DreamZzz Nightmare Scorpion Digger, the #71514 LEGO DreamZzz Dino Jet, and the #71515 LEGO DreamZzz Tiger Shark Tank! To see all the new sets, visit the LEGO DreamZzz section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO Friends is also offering some really great sets next year. I especially like the #42687 LEGO Friends Liann’s Family House, and the fanciful #42691 LEGO Friends Garden Restaurant. Some of the small sets are really great too, like the #42692 LEGO Friends Ice Cream & Balloon Stand. You can see all the new sets at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Harry Potter fans also get a collection of new sets to look forward to. Like the #76463 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle: Hospital Wing, which can be integrated with the other LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle sets. Another interesting set is the #76470 LEGO Harry Potter Enchanted Flying Ford Anglia, which appears to be similar to the large LEGO Creator Expert/LEGO Icons vehicles, and includes large brick-built characters. The #76466 LEGO Harry Potter Philosopher’s Stone – Collectors’ Edition seems to be another nice set. For details, visit the LEGO Harry Potter section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is going to include quite a few mechs, as well as the #76344 LEGO Collectors’ Edition Iron Man Mark 3. Another set worth noting is a small but fun version of the Daily Bugle in the #76342 LEGO Spider-Man vs. Mysterio set. Take a look at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO Ninjago fans are getting new spinners, new small mechs, the #71858 LEGO Ninjago Four Weapons Blacksmith we talked about before, the unusual #71859 LEGO Ninjago Dragon of Life, and the #71860 LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Titan Mech. An especially noteworthy set is the #71866 LEGO Ninjago Ninja Character Display. This is a smaller set that includes all the ninja and only costs $44.99. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The LEGO Speed Champions collection continues with more highly detailed race cars, and there are also a couple of unusual additions; the #77255 LEGO Speed Champions Lightning McQueen, and the #77256 LEGO Speed Champions Back to the Future Time Machine. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO Speed Champions section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Many LEGO Star Wars fans prefer mid-sized sets because they are more affordable, take up less space, and are cuter than their massive counterparts. The upcoming #75440 LEGO Star Wars AT-AT and the #75441 LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser are excellent examples. The new #75452 LEGO Star Wars BB-8 with an opening chest compartment is pretty cute, too. Take a look at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO Technic fans will be getting four new race cars, two new Monster Jam-branded pull-back racers, the #42221 LEGO Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket, and the fun and funky #42227 LEGO Technic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. They will be available at the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.
And of course, this is not all! We can expect to see even more new sets between now and the New Year! What do you think so far? Which sets are on top of your wanted list for next year? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!
