New Products for the Holidays by LEGO Customizers

The LEGO Black Friday sales and deals are still running at the Online LEGO Shop and today is the last day to take advantage of them. LEGO added a dedicated landing page for all theLEGO Black Friday/ Cyber Monday Deals. This page is continually updated with all available sales and offers and is a great place to check out all the promotions in one place. Visit the LEGO Black Friday Deals Page at the Online LEGO Shop.

Today, I also wanted to highlight the special holiday offerings and new products from some of the best LEGO customizers. These small shops offer specialty LEGO-compatible minifig accessories, custom printed elements, and more. If you want something truly unique for the holidays, I highly recommend checking them out.

LEGO customizer EclipseGRAFX has a new line of holiday-themed printed 2×6 tiles and even large 8×16 stud printed billboards that you can add to your LEGO city. They also carry some highly detailed printed minifigures as well as printed BrickArms accessories. You can find all their products at EclipseBricks.com.

BrickWarriors has some amazing new fully printed templar knights and gladiators with custom armor pieces and weapons. They also carry some beautiful overmoulded modern and classic weapons (moulded with more than one color instead of printed, which give the item durability). You can find all their products at BrickWarriors.com.

CitizenBrick is another customizer with highly detailed minifigures, minifigure parts, and accessories. They have some unusual designs that you don’t see anywhere else, so check them out at CitizenBrick.com.

BrickForge is one of the first customizers that offered custom moulded elements. They still carry many of their classic accessories, which now also come in printed versions. Take a look a their full selection at BrickForge.com.

Another early well-known customizer is BrickArms. They still produce highly detailed and historically accurate weapons and accessories for minifigures, but they no longer sells their products directly. Instead, you can purchase their products through a list of authorized retailers that you can find at this page at BrickArms.com.

I’m very familiar with the items of these LEGO customizers as I use them myself. And always highly recommend them to others. When LEGO only made basic accessories and limited printed parts, LEGO customization was a thriving and well-appreciated niche within the hobby.

These days, LEGO offers a much greater variety of minifigure accessories, and they print their minifigs with a lot more detail, thus many LEGO customizer shops disappeared from the market. However, there are still some that are able to offer unique products that can’t be found anywhere else. And because the technology to make custom items also greatly improved they can offer products that matches LEGO’s quality in every way. And while you enjoy their products, you also know that you’re supporting the small businesses of talented artists and artisans.

So take a look around the world of LEGO customization and feel free to share which unique items you like and collect!

If you are not accustomed to using the Online LEGO Shop, or you have friends/relatives who are going to be purchasing LEGO for you, the online LEGO Gift Finder can be a big help. This is a special section of the Online LEGO Shop that assists shoppers in narrowing down their selection by age range, price, and interests. Below are some quick links to help you get started.

WAL-MART, TARGET & OTHER RETAILERS: These are the generic big-box retail stores. They have a decent selection of LEGO sets, their prices aren’t inflated (although it’s always a good idea to double-check), and they usually have great deals around the holiday season in the 20-50% off range. One tip I would give is that don’t take the shelf prices for granted. There are often sales going on that are not yet marked on the shelves (especially around this time of the year when stores are so busy). Take items up to a price-checking station to get the most current price. Also, don’t forget to check the websites of these retailers, as they often have online-only deals during the holiday season.

SHOPPING FOR LEGO AT AMAZON.COM: One of the best places to shop for LEGO, especially around the holidays, is Amazon.com. Their prices are excellent, as they like to undercut – or at least match – everyone else. As a caveat, always look for the Eligible for Free Shipping icon in the item description. These are items shipped directly by Amazon. (Amazon also has affiliates and their shipping may not be free and/or their service may not be as reliable.) Amazon has a dedicated LEGO store section, with all the currently available sets. Below are some quick links to help you get started:

SHOPPING FOR RETIRED, USED & BULK LEGO: If you have your eyes on a retired LEGO set, or just want to pick up some used or bulk LEGO, eBay.com and BrickLink.com are the best places to shop. Always check the seller’s feedback and if you’re not sure about something, ask questions before making a purchase. One thing to remember when shopping on eBay and BrickLink is that these are usually small hobby sellers who will need to pack and ship your order during their spare time. Also, there have been significant shipping delays due to the pandemic, so place your orders at least 2-3 weeks before Christmas to make sure the package arrives on time.

RECENTLY RELEASED EXCLUSIVE SETS: Here is a list of all the most talked about sets that were released in the past couple of months you may consider for the holidays: the #75367 LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, the #10326 LEGO Modular Natural History Museum, the #10325 LEGO Winter Village Alpine Lodge, the #10329 LEGO Botanical Tiny Plants, the #10318 LEGO Icons Concorde, the #76417 LEGO Harry Potter Gringott Wizarding Bank – Collectors Edition, the #21341 LEGO Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, the #43222 LEGO Disney Castle, the #76252 LEGO Batman Batcave – Shadow Box, and many more. To see the full list visit the new items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

If you already know what you want to get, shopping online is usually the best, most convenient, and safest option. Most retailers offer free shipping, or a very low shipping threshold, during the holiday season to encourage online orders, and they offer the same or even better specials online as in stores. Also, when shopping with online retailers like Amazon, you can pick up other non-LEGO items at the same time which is super convenient.

I hope this guide helps you in your holiday LEGO shopping. If you would like to add your own LEGO shopping tips feel free to share them in the comment section below, along with any great deals you run across between now and Christmas. Happy huntin’!
