As you probably know already, this year LEGO introduced a new theme to Hero Factory titled Invasion from Below. Just like in previous LEGO Hero Factory themes, the story is centered around a group of robotic heroes, who protect the galaxy from various threats – this time fierce monsters from underground. One major difference though is that this time the heroes are not large Constraction Figures, but are minifig size and driving mechs. 🙂
The LEGO Hero Factory: Invasion from Below episode was originally posted on the LEGO Hero Factory website, but now that it is also available on YouTube, I thought to share it here so we can all watch and discuss. This time the story starts out in the city of Antropolis as a group of robot workers dig a subway tunnel. However the mining-drill disappears in an underground cavern and when the crew investigates, they vanish too. One of the workers calls Hero Factory, just as strange monsters start pouring out from the underground tunnel. See what happens next…
Interesting, isn’t it? Those mechs are awesome! To be honest though, I was a little disappointed with this episode as I was hoping it will be a continuation of the previously released LEGO Hero Factory: Brain Attack, with something like the brains that took refuge underground rising to fight again, but unfortunately it was a completely new plot. Also, the story ends on a cliff-hanger, so we’ll have to see what happens next. Or maybe the story writers will leave it up to LEGO fans to work out the plot…
This episode is great to show off how the new mechs function and their different features, and if you were wondering about the strange underground creatures that you see in the 2014 LEGO Hero Factory sets, you will learn about them too. If you are interested in the LEGO Hero Factory: Invasion from Below sets, they are available at the Online LEGO Shop. Also, there is a new LEGO Hero Factory: Invasion From Below game, which can be downloaded at the Apple app store, or it can be played online.
So what do you think? How did you like this episode of LEGO Hero Factory? What do you think of the new, smaller heroes and their mechs? And what about the underground monsters? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Do you remember the #10196 LEGO Grand Carousel from 2009? It was a magical LEGO set with a gorgeous carousel – fully powered so it could turn on its own and the horses could move up and down… there was even included carousel music via a LEGO sound-brick! The set was originally $250 – these days you are lucky if you can get it for four times that much. However if you missed out on the LEGO Grand Carousel, or if you do have it and would like to expand on it, there is another LEGO set coming soon that I think you will really like: the #10244 LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer. 🙂
Here is the official description of the Fairground Mixer: Climb aboard the LEGO Fairground Mixer and hold onto your hat! Unfold the awesome Fairground Mixer, turn the crank and see it come to life! The fair has come to town and children and adults alike can’t wait to try the rides. Buy your ticket from the ticket booth and climb aboard the Mixer. Then try reaching the golden bell on the high striker or hit the target to plunge the dunk tank lady into the water. As evening falls, the swirling Mixer ride glows in the darkness, before being folded down onto its own trailer for transportation to the next town. This magical fairground is packed with wonderful details that will capture everyone’s imagination.
The LEGO Fairground Mixer includes 12 minifigures: a juggling man on stilts, dunk tank lady, strong man challenger, ticket lady, truck driver/ride operator, 2 women, 2 girls, 2 boys and a queasy man who tried the mixer one too many times. Enjoy the magical atmosphere of the fairground with the LEGO Fairground Mixer, packed with exciting features and details.

Not sure how all of that would fit in one set and how the whole thing works? Check out the designer video here with Jamie Berard showing you all the functions of the LEGO Fairground Mixer.
I really started to appreciate this set when I saw Jamie putting it all together. It is magical how the entire set fits on the two trucks and looks like a real-life traveling fairground. How the different sections fit on the trucks is a serious engineering feat! Jamie is awesome, isn’t he?
The LEGO Fairground Mixer will be available for sale directly through LEGO beginning of June via the Online LEGO Shop and LEGO stores. I also believe that this will be released for LEGO VIP members early, in mid-May. What do you think? How do you like the LEGO Fairground Mixer set? Feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉
