LEGO Star Wars Tank Droid review

(Written by EliteBrick)

Today I would like to show you one of the most interesting LEGO Star Wars sets that came out this summer; the #75015 LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. The Tank Droid wasn’t in the final cut of Star Wars Episode II, but it was originally supposed to be in the movie, which is interesting. So let’s take a closer look! 🙂

#75015 LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid Details

The LEGO Star Wars Tank Droid itself is made up of around 200 elements (excluding the treads), and is 26 studs long. It is a fairly easy build. The guns have flick-missiles, which are pretty standard on LEGO sets and always fun. On the front pontoon-like extensions there is room to place battle-droids – just like in the movie. The “eyes” can turn 360 degrees so they can look both forward and backward.

There are three minifigures included with the LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. Jango Fett is of course the coolest character, and his minifig version doesn’t disappoint.  He comes with the new Mandalorian helmet, but in flat-silver, instead of dark-gray. His jet-pack is also flat-silver. And I also like the blaster holster printing on his legs. Probably one of my most favorite details. The Clone Trooper minifigure is the same as in the other 2013 LEGO Star Wars sets, but he is still pretty cool. I like the helmet details, especially the little holes on the sides to attach antennas, visors, etc. The Battle-Droid is the same as we always get, but since this one is from Geonosis, it is dark-orange instead of tan. It also comes with a plate that is attached to his back as a backpack sort of thing.

75015 LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Tank Droid Minifigures

Overall this is a really nice LEGO Star Wars set, and I would rate it six out of five stars. Why? Because the it is well designed, and is also really sturdy. I dropped mine from 17 inches and not one part fell off. The minifigures are also great, and the value is just unbeatable! You get 271 pieces for $19.99. That’s only 7 cents/piece, well below the 10 cents/piece golden ratio, considered the standard by LEGO fans. The LEGO Star Wars Corporate Alliance Battle Droid is available at the Online LEGO Shop, along with the other LEGO Star Wars summer sets. LEGO The Simpsons minifigures revealed!

Following the trend of finding future minifigures on eBay, here are a couple of interesting ones. An eBay seller from Mexico listed two minifigs from the upcoming LEGO The Simpsons line: Homer Simpsons and Nedward Flanders. These characters should be appearing in the LEGO The Simpsons collectible packets series next year. 🙂

LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Details

Please note that only the heads of the two LEGO The Simpsons characters are new, and are likely leaks from LEGO’s factory in Mexico (just like we have seen many times already). The torsos and legs used on the pictures here are from other already released minifigs from other lines. They are likely used by the seller just to make the characters more sellable. Anyhow, the listing is still interesting and gives us a glimpse of the LEGO The Simpsons characters’ features.

LEGO Simpsons Minifigures

The auction for the LEGO The Simpsons minifigures is already over, but if you are interested in new minifigure reveals, I would recommend adding this seller to your eBay watch-list. They will likely have more of the LEGO The Simpsons figures, and they also listed a LEGO DC Super Heroes Flash minifig, with more leaks likely to come. 🙄

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO The Simpsons characters revealed here? Yay or nay? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉
