LEGO is running several promotions this month to help you with your LEGO shopping. First of all the Online LEGO Shop is offering free shipping March 1st-15th for orders over $75. 🙂
You will also get a free #30242 LEGO Star Wars Republic Frigate polybag on all LEGO Star Wars purchases of $50 or more. This offer is valid March 1st – 31st 2013 or while supplies last. Similar deals are available for our friends in Canada, and also in the UK and some European countries.
According to the LEGO newsletter I received the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets are hot sellers right now, so you might want to check those out as well if you haven’t done so already.
Another exciting LEGO set that came out recently is the #10233 LEGO Horizon Express train. This is also a LEGO exclusive, only available at the Online LEGO Shop and at some select retailers, so it would be a perfect item to pick up during the free shipping offer. 😉
And as far as LEGO shopping deals later in the month, VIP members will be able to earn double VIP Points from March 25th until April 8th. However by that time the free shipping deal will expire, so it is up to you do decide if you prefer free shipping or double VIP Points.
What do you think? How do you like the LEGO shopping deals for March? Are you planning to pick up something during the promotion? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😀
I ran across a really wonderful LEGO Mindstorms creation featured at the Brothers-Brick the other day. It was so impressive that I just had to share it with you. Meet LEGONARDO, the LEGO Mindstorms humanoid that can draw pictures – all by itself! 😛
LEGONARDO was created by Danielle Benedettelli, an Italian LEGO Mindstorms fan and robotics engineer. Danielle says the following about LEGONARDO on his website: “Ladies and gentlemen, here is LEGONARDO, a portrayer robot. It is my fourth generation drawing machine. It is inspired by the work of 18th Century Swiss watch and automata makers Pierre Jacquet-Droz and Henri Maillardet. After reading the book The Invention of Hugo Cabret, I completely redesigned my portrayer into this shape. The name is a tribute to Leonardo Da Vinci, Italian artist and inventor. The drawings are generated by a custom software I wrote, similar to the one used for my first portrayer robot.”
LEGONARDO himself is an impressive LEGO creation, but the fact that he can draw makes him totally awesome! Below is a video showing LEGOLARDO deeply absorbed in his artistic work. I can’t imagine the amount of designing and programming that went into this guy!
Cool, isn’t it? What do you think? How do you like LEGONARDO? And what do you think he should draw next? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉
