“Dumb Ways to Die” is a public service announcement campaign by Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia to promote rail safety. The video went viral on the Internet as it is so morbidly cute and funny. You rarely see such a brilliant video from a government agency. 😀

LEGO Star Wars Dump Ways to Die

I have been hoping that someone will make a LEGO version of “Dumb Ways to Die” so I have an excuse sharing it with you here in case you haven’t seen it yet. I was super happy went flickr member Ninja_Nin created a LEGO Star Wars version of the various vignettes from the video.

The first two LEGO Star Wars vignettes feature the first two lines of the first verse: “Set fire to your hair – Poke a stick at a grizzly bear”. I particularly like Luke poking at the Wampa.

The second two LEGO Star Wars vignettes feature the second two lines of the first verse: “Eat medicine that’s out of date – Use your private parts as piranha bait”. I think Jar Jar is just about to get himself in big doo-doo!

LEGO Star Wars Dumb Ways to Die 2

The third two LEGO Star Wars vignettes feature the first two lines of the second verse: “Get your toast out with a fork – Do your own electrical work”. Love the little workshop Anakin is working at!

LEGO Star Wars Dumb Ways to Die 4

The last two LEGO Star Wars vignettes feature the second two lines of the second verse: “Teach yourself how to fly – Eat a two week old unrefrigerated pie.” So now you know why Yoda is green! 🙄

LEGO Star Wars Dumb Ways to Die 3

Unfortunately the last two verses haven’t been LEGO-ized yet, so if you are up to it you can do them yourself. What do you think? How do you like the LEGO version of this catchy song? Which one is your favorite LEGO Star Wars vignette? Share your comments below! And remember to be safe around trains! 😉

LEGO Lone Ranger – more pictures!

(Written by Geneva – gid617)

As you probably know already, LEGO has a new theme coming up in April this year based off the new Lone Ranger movie. Not too long ago we got some good pictures of a few of the LEGO Lone Ranger sets, but now all the pictures are available thanks to Brickset member GRogall. (Click images for larger view.) The theme will have six sets; Cavalry Builder, Comanche Camp, Stagecoach Escape, Colby City Duel, Silver Mine Shootout, and Constitution Train Chase. Apparently LEGO likes C’s! 🙄

#79106 LEGO Lone Ranger Cavalry Builder – This set includes three cavalry minifigures, plus the Lone Ranger on a new style white horse! It also includes a cannon, fire, (unfortunately there’s no aim), and a folding barricade. Pretty neat army-builder, as long as you don’t mind an army of Lone Rangers, too! Price: $12.99

#79107 LEGO Lone Ranger Comanche Camp – With a teepee and a canoe, this is quite a cool set! It also includes two Indians – Tonto and Red Knee – and both of them have dual sided heads! And of course the Lone Ranger, plus a sand and rock out-cropping, several scorpions, and a weapon rack. Price: $19.99

#79108 LEGO Lone Ranger Stagecoach Escape – This is one of my favorite sets of this line, as it includes three horses, a really nicely designed coach, and five minifigures; Tonto, the Lone Ranger, two bandit-like characters, and Red Harrington (who reminds me of the Red Knee Indian for some reason). Price: $29.99

#79108 LEGO Lone Ranger Colby City Duel – This set includes two buildings; a really neat bank, with lots of the new profile-bricks (or “brick” bricks), an exploding wall, opening door, interior with teller’s booth, and a cool bank sign on top, plus the sheriff’s office, complete with an exploding jail cell! The set also includes five minifigures; Tonto, the Lone Ranger, two bad-guys, and the sheriff. And lots of silver and dollar-bills! In fact, this is my favorite of all the Lone Rangers sets! Price: $49.99

#79110 LEGO Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout – Watch out for the boulders and falling rocks in this set! With a stream on one side and a wood building on the other, this set looks a lot like a mine, and all the tan gives it a nice sandy look! Like the previous two sets, this one also includes five minifigures; Tonto, the Lone Ranger, another Indian, and two more bandits – or at least they look like bandits to me! However, both the Lone Ranger and Tonto have different, scuffed up suits this time, which makes for a nice variation. Unfortunately the “Keep Out” sign looks like it’s just a sticker, but all the details like the crane, several lamps, the skull, and the interior of the mine, really make this a great set! Price: $69.99

➡  #79111 LEGO Lone Ranger Constitution Train Chase – The biggest set of the LEGO Lone Ranger line, the Train Chase has lots of neat accessories and seven minifigures, plus enough track to make an oval! The train itself looks awesome, especially the engine, though the middle car does seem to be lacking something. The set also includes a bit of rock and a water tower, both with exploding/catapulting functions! Price: $99.99

So how do you like the LEGO Lone Ranger line? Do any of these sets appeal to you?  This is one of the few LEGO themes that I’d actually want to get the whole line-up – though that probably won’t be possible. What about you? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉
