Anything can be made out of LEGO, we all know that. Still occasionally you might run across the work of a LEGO artist who takes the unlimited nature of LEGO to new levels and makes something breathtakingly magical, beautiful and dreamlike…

Today I would like to introduce you to such a LEGO artist from the newly formed LEGO Users Group Beokocka (meaning: “white brick”) from Belgrade, Serbia. His name is Ivan Angeli, and he is an AFOL (Adult-Fan-of-LEGO). Throughout this article I will show you some of Ivan’s LEGO creations, and also let him share a little bit about himself. Enjoy! 🙂
“All of my LEGO MOCs are inspirited by the fantasy world of AD&D (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons), precisely the game Baldur’s Gate I and II. So my main themes are LEGO Fantasy and LEGO Castle, and there are a lot of fantasy creatures in my LEGO MOCs as well.”

“By strange set of circumstances I’ve got my hands on a lot of red 1×2 bricks, and the only fraction that could fit that color scheme were Drow from the Underdark, so many of my castles have that evil vibe.”
“I like to build a LEGO creation until I use all the LEGO bricks that I own, even tires for ballasts and interior construction.”
“All of my Brickshelf Folders have three main subfolders: the Main Folder, where I store all the pictures of the finished MOC, the Construction Folder, where different stages of the building process are presented. And a Minifigs Folder with all the minifigs in a particular MOC – ranging from a few to a few hundred. You can also see some of my LEGO creations on flickr.”
“I love to use my girlfriend as a model to represent scale for my LEGO models.” (See the full size picture here.)

“I really like blue and red lighting; giving LEGO MOCs a celestial and evil mood, as shown below.” (More pictures here.)

“I love to play with my finished LEGO creations, but really play, like a child. I never had a Dark Age. Also, I accidentally discovered that girls actually like guys who build things with LEGO, so I stopped hiding my LEGO MOCs when a new girl would come over for the first time.” 😉

“I never make plans for my LEGO creations, use LEGO Digital Designer, or any other program. I just take a LEGO baseplate and start building – usually while listening to good music.” 😀
“What else can I tell you about myself and my LEGO creations? If you have some questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for checking out my LEGO creations. Hope they give you some inspiration!”

So what do you think? How do you like Ivan’s LEGO fantasy creations? Did you learn something or got an idea for your next LEGO project? Feel free to share or ask Ivan any questions in the comment section below! 🙂
